Do you ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself, “Man, I really could go for a taco with a waffle acting as a shell filled with sausage and maple syrup?” If this is the case — and you happen to live in southern California — you’re in luck.
Several Taco Bell restaurants in Orange County and neighboring areas are testing out the Waffle Taco (which is exactly what it sounds like) in hopes of attracting more customers to the fast food chain’s breakfast menu, because everybody likes tacos and everybody likes waffles.
So why not just make it easier on everyone involved and combine these two inherently opposite foods and sell it for 89 cents?
A Taco Bell spokesman told USA Today that the if the item is popular enough, the chain plans to roll out the Waffle Taco in all markets.

President Obama and North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-Un in Twitter Feud
WASHINGTON – Late last night North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un took to his Twitter account and began a rash of disparaging taunts directed at President Barack Obama. After several weeks of nuclear threats from the young dictator, few were surprised that he would attempt to provoke the president with denigrating remarks on the Internet’s popular social network. It all began after midnight in Washington when Kim Jong-Un sent out three consecutive tweets:

Thirty minutes later the Twitter world exploded when President Obama responded to the Korean dictator with a tweet from his own Twitter account:

Within seconds Kim Jong-Un shot back with another tweet at President Obama:

For the next several minutes the Twitter battle was on. Millions around the world sat glued to their computer screen watching the first ever cyber-war between the leaders of the United States and North Korea in 140 characters or less.

‘I’ll take Soft Landings for a thousand, Alex’
The answer to the “Jeopardy” clue “Alex Trebrek’s replacement” has a new and surprising question:
“Who is Matt Lauer?”
The beleaguered host of the “Today” show is at the top of the list to take over the brainy game show when Trebek steps down, as expected, in 2016, knowledgeable sources tell The Post.
Lauer is widely reported to be on his way out at the morning show, which has tumbled to No. 2 in the ratings in the last year. He is being blamed for the show’s fall from grace after 16 years on top.
The Post reported this week that Lauer is not expected to re-sign with “Today” when his blockbuster, $25-million-a-year deal expires in 2015.
By coincidence, that’s about the time Trebek is expected to end his three-decade run as the host of the habit-forming game show.

A woman cooking herself a snack has been wounded after the bullets her roommate left inside the oven exploded and sprayed her with shrapnel.
Aalaya Walker, 18, preheated the oven of her apartment in Tampa, Florida, on Monday to make herself waffles – not knowing that Javarski ‘JJ’ Sandy, 25, had stashed his pistol magazine with four live rounds in the appliance.
Ms Walker was hit in the chest and the leg by shrapnel from at least one round.
Mr Sandy, who legally owns a .45-caliber Glock 21 semiautomatic pistol, told police he took the magazine out of his gun and put it in the oven. He put the gun itself in a drawer, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
He never explained to officers why he put the clip with four live rounds in the oven.
Police determined that Mr Sandy, who works at WalMart, had committed no crime. He was not charged.
Ms Walker said she picked brass shell casing fragments out of her skin as she rode the bus to the hospital.

In Maryland, two 6-year-old boys pretend their fingers are guns during a playground game of cops and robbers. In Massachusetts, a 5-year-old boy attending an after-school program makes a gun out of Legos and points it at other students while “simulating the sound of gunfire,” as one school official put it.

Some school officials are taking the latter view, suspending or threatening to suspend small children over behavior their parents consider perfectly normal and age-appropriate — even now, with schools in a state of heightened sensitivity following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in December.
Conceived as a way to improve school security and maintain consistent discipline and order, zero tolerance was enshrined by a 1994 federal law that required states to mandate a minimum one-year expulsion of any student caught with a firearm on school property. Over the years, many states and school districts expanded zero tolerance to include offenses as varied as fighting, skipping school or arguing with a teacher.

Some experts say there’s little evidence that zero tolerance — in which certain infractions compel automatic discipline, usually suspension or expulsion — makes schools safer, and contend the policies leads to increased rates of dropouts and involvement with the juvenile justice system. Doctors in Brazil accidentally tore the head off a baby they were struggling to deliver, it was reported today.
The horrific incident occurred after the child became stuck as it was being born in Aracaju, northeastern Brazil.
The baby boy’s headless body remained inside the mother and had to be removed by Caesarian.
Gilmara Azevedo dos Santos, the woman’s cousin, told Brazil’s Globo G1 website: ‘She went through a lot of suffering, it was hours and hours and a lot of pain and discomfort, with doctors pushing on her stomach, trying everything to make the baby come out.
‘Then at one point, she heard a loud noise and one of the doctors said, ‘Marcos, are you crazy?’
He said the mother asked what was happening but didn’t get an answer.
She was rushed for an emergency Caesarian where, according to the woman, the headless body of the baby was removed.
