Dear ‘Press’: Fred Phelps is a DEMOCRAT
So, as I was busily fomenting evil by home schooling my child, I ended up having to take a break in order to partake in even further acts of extremism: Telling the Truth. I noticed Andrew Sullivan and David Shuster spreading lies and misinformation regarding the oh-so-odious Westboro Baptist Church and their head, Fred Phelps.
Andrew Sullivan had posted this:

Wrong, Andrew. Fred Phelps is an avowed DEMOCRAT, you liar. Not only did his church endorse Barack Obama, he worked on Al Gore’s campaign and has run for office himself several times — as a DEMOCRAT. He is NOT “christian right.” He is neither right, nor is he Christian. He is a sick psychopath. Sort of like you and your sick fascination with Sarah Palin’s lady parts and her amniotic fluid. I was further infuriated when I read David Shuster of MNSBC’s twitter feed and his take on the Phelps fringe rally outside of Sasha and Malia Obamas school today. The “Press” has moved on to not only mere editorializing, but outright lying. I suppose it doesn’t count, though, since MSNBC is a “real news organization” according to Obama.
Dear Dum-Dum Shuster et al. – Check Phelps’ darn wikipedia page. What, wikiquotes are good enough to accuse Rush Limbaugh of spurious racist quotes, yet not good enough to get basic background info that is easily cross-checked elsewhere? Let’s break down your lies, shall we? I’ll help you out and will offer the truth in response to each of them. I’m good and helpful like that; as a conservative I believe that charity begins at home, thus, I will aid someone who is suffering from an intelligence deficiency.
I was driving by on Wisconsin avenue and couldn’t understand why traffic was so backed up… until I saw the scene. The right has no shame.
I’ve already shown that Phelps is NOT part of the Right. Therefore, you are the one with no shame. You are a liar. I suggest you get some and stop shamelessly lying in order to fit your own false narratives, with no regard to the truth. The only saving grace is that, luckily, no one watches your channel. And I hope democrats will, since Phelps is a DEMOCRAT. Conservatives and republicans have already denounced him. Over and over again. I am denouncing him right now. I realize actual research, like a simple google search, is beyond your capabilities, but REPUBLICANS passed an Act that was, in effect, legislative denouncement of the sick bastid. In fact, it was signed into law by the evil and nefarious republican, George W. Bush.
You then had the unmitigated gall to say the following, which reminds me of Robert Gibbs’ blatant lie or insane delusion from earlier this week:

Firstly, that’s a lie and you know it. I haven’t heard ONE republican embrace such a sign. I have, however, seen it denounced as highly offensive, disturbing, unwelcome and wrong. That is in stark comparison to the deafening silence heard when these signs were seen at rallies against George W. Bush. In addition, how many on left, including yourself, denounced it when Pelosi, Reid, et al, odiously called teaparty attendees “Un-American, Brown Shirts and Nazis?” Evidently, hate is welcome in your LEADERSHIP.
To sum it up in simple terms for ya, Mr. Shuster – Mainstream Media: Go Teabag yourself.

Even the President calls us teabaggers. I have never once teabagged. I am not against it I just am not into that kind of thing. Honest,Admin Girl..I am not. TRUST ME.
I really wish that the media would play this whole thing out close to center if they did there would be a whole lot more people tired of the word “teabagger”

I also notice this when the media discusses communism and calls them “right wing.”
If you watch Current TV’s (or should I say “force yourself to watch”) report on Cuba & communism they actually call the totalitarian communists right wing.

Calling them “lefties” does them a service. The “left” in the literal sense, meant “republican” while “right” meant “monarchist.” What you are calling “left” is socialist. Both Nationalist and Internationalist – or, for the uninformed, Nazi and Communist. Fascism is simply an offshoot of socialism, just as is Trotskyism.

Thank you, Snarks, for doing Schuster’s research for him. I don’t know whether his characterization of Fred “God Hates Me” Phelps is simply ideological bias, or intellectual laziness. Well, I guess intellectual bias = intellectual laziness.
