This post was shocking…not for the photos of the beheading, but for the Barack quote that “If I’d only been able to speak with Hasan…” He really does think he’s the Messiah, bring peace and healing in his words. Satire? Using photos of dead, muliated, U.S. soldiers that were killed in the line of duty is not funny.

I met the Ok House Speaker, Chris Benge, at his inaugural roast last week. I’ve used a little more tact with them, of course. I get that this is “satire,” and I get the point. But as I commented earlier, the more shocking thing to me is the possibility that Obama actually said what’s attributed to him in the piece. If he did, it means that he actually believes that his words bring peace and healing, not just to the nation and the world, but to the individual tortured soul. In other words, that he actually buys the notion that his calling and purpose is messianic, as most of his followers believe. That would be the most disturbing thing about this. But no one has yet provided a link to said quote, so I’ll assume he never said it.

@Montanarichard – If you have had to deal with our deceased soldiers in the manner you described in your first post, you have my deepest compassion. If you are in the military, thank you for your service to our country. I think maybe this story may have served as a reality check for everyone – to remind us of who and what we REALLY are dealing with and how terrible the outcome can really be.
