House Votes to Kill Liberty; Passes Pelosicare Bill

Home - by Lori Ziganto - November 7, 2009 - 22:01 America/Chicago - 29 Comments

Rest in Peace, Constitution. I really want to pop Nancy Pelosi in her smug, fugly and unmovable nose. I despise Pelosi and the House Democrats (together with the Republican traitor, Rep Cao, who made the bill BI-PARTISAN) so much that I’m out of fibers of my being and need to borrow some of all of yours.

My dearest friend and brilliant man, SomeGit said it best:

This day will be in history books as 1 of the days when belligerence of power became manifest to an increasingly angry citizenry.

I have a question for President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Hey, geniuses, who is going to pay for this “free” health care when NO ONE HAS A DAMN JOB??

I almost didn’t watch the Presser afterward, because I really dislike having to hurl, but I managed to do so. The Democrats were actually *thrilled* with peeing all over freedom. THRILLED. Look at them; look at their faces. And never forget it. I now fully embrace President George W. Bush’s quote:  “You are either with us, or you are against us.”  Because you know what they are cheering for?

The death of Liberty.

Thomas Jefferson – “If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny. “

I can’t even contain my anger. The end-around that Pelosi ran against the majority of the American people is disgusting. She should be ashamed, but she isn’t. She’ll smile (as much as she can) and proclaim how this disaster is really a win.

To all those that voted for this, consider that bill to be your pink slip.

I swear it’s like they WANT a civil war and whether you think that’s wrong to say or not….it’s the truth. People are starting to get real angry at our government. If he signs that disaterous treaty in Copenhagen, I fear that’s exactly what we’ll have.

This has not been a good week for America. I worked today as I do most weekends. I had CSpan on a tracked the vote on Twitter. I’m just disgusted. My 80 year old parents are angry and worried for my future. They don’t recognize America anymore. Me neither. Mad. Angry. Sad.

This reminds me of a scene in the movie revenge of the Sith:

Cheering for our destruction. They are only cheering because they know they will not be subjected to the crap they are forcing on the country.

Unfortunately, most Americans who have fulltime jobs and employee benefits have been paying a multitude of co-pays and deductibles over the past few years. This results in quite a bit of out of pocket expenses. The problem with the Democrat Health Care Bill is that all those who don’t watch the real news or those who aren’t capable of reading the bill, believe this house bill will alleviate those expenses. This new bill, passed by the socialistic House of Representives, will only increase those personal expenses, grow our federal taxes, and decrease our ability to find quality healthcare, despite our household income.

Welcome to the world of obama. One step closer to controlling your mind.

If Americans were clammering for this abomination, it would be different. But by their action today, representative government is dead in this country. Despite polls and townhalls and a flood of mail all urging them to defeat this thing, these people have told us to stick it, and are assuming that Americans are too stupid, or will be too wrapped up in American Idol by next year to remember what violence Congressional Democrats did to our system of goverment today.

Too many people vote for morons like Nancy Pelosi because they believe they will get freebies – like free health care. It’s not free, and the substantial monetary cost will be far outweighed by the loss of personal liberty. For those who think that is overstated, then consider the fact that the Democrats passed this abomination on a weekend in the face of mass opposition I haven’t seen since the protests against the Vietnam war. Those same arrogant bastards who voted for PelosiCare will think nothing of passing legislation mandating what Americans can and cannot do under the guise of controlling costs.

Oh, and to the “disadvantaged” and middle class people who believe the rich and corporations will pay the freight – quit being stupid. Corporations either pass the costs on to you, or go out of business. The same is true for “the rich,” they will figure out how to pass the bill on to you – they didn’t become rich by being silly with their money.

This is preaching to the choir on this site, but liberal sites censor their posts.

Another thing people don’t realize is that while on gov’t plans, the restrictions on doctors will make it so they are unable to provide care for patients willing to pay cash. What does that mean? I’ll explain:
If a patient under gov’t insurance is denied a procedure (surgical or diagnostic) they will not be able to seek a doctor outside the gov’t plan to have that procedure. That’s right, if the gov’t says no, that’s it. No second opinions. No choice.

    Are ya’ all done now?

    “Rest in Peace, Constitution”?
    “The death of Liberty”?

    Really?

Well, gee wiz – excuse me while I head out to the back yard and start digging a hole for me and mine.
It’s all done but the dying, right?

After all, the Sons of Liberty never had such tribulation.
The Founding Fathers never had to face such a horrible evil.
They’ll understand if we just weep into our morning Starbucks, and lament the passing of the blood they shed.

To quote from the movie “Captain Blood”

Dr. Peter Blood: Nuttall, me lad, there’s just one other little thing. Do you think you could find me a good stout piece of timber? About so thick and so long?

Honesty Nuttall: Yes, I think so.

Dr. Peter Blood: Then do so and lash it to your spine – it needs stiffening.

You act like this is the end.
It’s not. This is just the beginning.

Now go get yourself a piece of timber…

Illustr8r is correct, this week has been an assault on our liberty – Hasan, Pelosi, the dems – not much difference between any of them. 2010 is coming, but there is plenty to do until then. Use their own rules against them – ridicule, minimize, support and/or boycott – keep on blogging and posting, here and everywhere. BHO is a pathological narcissist and the dems/libs are his co-dependents – once they are exposed as such, they will melt like the WW of the West. As we pull the curtain back, on the great and powerful Oz, legions will join the effort. I believe this and I believe in our country – there’s too much at stake here to think otherwise. Thanks, IOTW, for being a voice for the opposition, this is a special place.

    Thank you Elwin,

While this is a set back, they can only take so much. I used to tease my liberal friends (back when it was safe to have them) that I voted republican to hasten the revolution. How wrong I was, I thought if you gave people everything they wanted they would never throw off the shackles of the oppressor. IOTW give me hope that even if they keep picking away at liberty, Patriots still exist.

Keep your powder dry, God Bless, Good Luck.

What I have read in the previous posts suggests, anger, resentment and determination. I see no sign of resignation or subjugation. As for now,I will rely on the ballot, in favor of the bullet. After 2010, all bets are off.

@Bertie: It will have to be offshore- Caribbean or Mexico perhaps?

Another hidden danger: right now we have plenty of diagnostic centers around- enough for us to choose which one we go to. If one center has an unacceptable waiting list, we find one that can see us sooner. I was once told that I had to wait 2 weeks for an MRI after something suddenly struck my legs. I was in constant pain feeling like I was being electrocuted and could not walk. They told me they could squeeze me in for an MRI in 2 weeks. I told them they either squeeze me in that day, or I will find a machine in LA county that would. Whadda ya know… I had my MRI in less than 3 hours. With this, nada- wait or else.No competition. No choice. Imagine living with the sensation of being electrocuted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and not even being able to start to try to find out what the hell happened to you. Scary stuff, y’all.

To paraphrase what I said at “The Cube” earlier, the reason the House acts imperious is because they have no reason to fear the voters. The current Congress has the same leadership and same historically low poll numbers as the previous one. There’s hardly a senior ranking democrat that isn’t in some kind of trouble for something or at least awfully damn close to crime and corruption.

Nonetheless, their election retention percentages are stunningly high. They can insult their country and their constituents, they can be feckless, corrupt and indifferent, they can blatantly steal elections and come election day, the same effing idiots will go to polls and put them right back in office.

Sorry, I’m having a bit of a “down day” over this and I feel pretty worn out and pissed off. The majority of voters put that vapid, statist, hand puppet in the office of the Presidency AND elected Dem majorities to both houses in spite of clear evidence that it would be horrible for this country. Poll number, protest rallies, tea parties and what not mean nothing to these people because, at election time, the votes are all that matters. I really hope I’m wrong but I have come to feel that the vast majority of Americans prefer to be subjects rather than citizens.

Commissar, you might be right. Everywhere you go, people talk about Idol, or Lost, or MJ or Ellen/Oprah – no one acts like they want to know what’s going on in the real world. Some of it is cultural, and some of it is that we are really divided like never before. The neighbors I have take my McCain/Palin bumper stickers off my car – they have a sign in their window that says Health Care for America NOW. I’m going over there tomorrow and get my lasik surgery done. It’ll be free, won’t it…………
