Tom Tancredo Picks Up Jihad Watch/Atlas Shrugs Expose on Rick Perry’s Dhimmitude
- Tom Tancredo for the Daily Caller
What is not yet as widely known about Perry is that he extends his taxpayer-funded compassion not only to illegal aliens but also to Muslim groups seeking to whitewash the violent history of that religion. Perry endorsed and facilitated the adoption in Texas public schools of a pro-Muslim curriculum unit developed by Muslim clerics in Pakistan.
Perry’s connections to Muslim groups in Texas are well documented. A recent Christian Science Monitor story said, “Perry has attended a number of Ismaili events in Texas, brokered a few agreements between the state and Ismailis (including the legislation introducing Islamic curricula into Texas schools), and even laid the first brick at the groundbreaking ceremony for an Ismaili worship center in Plano in 2005.”
The Muslim Histories and Cultures (MHC) project was formalized in 2004 in a signed agreement between the University of Texas at Austin and Aga Khan University in Pakistan. The announcement of the MHC project credited Gov. Perry by name with being “instrumental” in its launch.
The agreement calls for an extensive program of bi-cultural teacher training funded jointly by both parties. More than 200 Texas teachers have been trained in the program, which is ongoing. The project’s curriculum units were initially available for viewing on the university’s website, but have since been scrubbed from the Internet. It appears Texas officials do not want the curriculum examined by Texas taxpayers.
Islam scholar Robert Spencer, head of Jihad Watch, examined the program and concluded, “The curriculum is a complete whitewash and it’s got the endorsement of Perry. It’s not going to give you any idea why people are waging jihad against the West — it’s only going to make you think that the real problem is ‘Islamophobia.’”
Perhaps Spencer exaggerates the curriculum’s bias? Examine it for yourself here.
Perry’s close ties to Muslim groups led the political blog Salon to headline a recent story: “Rick Perry: The pro-Sharia candidate?” Evidence in support of that theme comes from Gov. Perry’s refusal to support legislation sponsored by Texas Republican legislators to outlaw Sharia law in Texas.

Good thing this guy is such a pathetic debater or he’d still be on top of the polls. Now if those other two posers would either get in or STFU (Christy and Palin) we can get down to selecting a real conservative.
Still liking Cain although I sure wish Newtie didn’t have so much baggage.

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m sick of candidates and so-called leaders that bow to Islamists.
No dhimmitude!

It’s safe to say that Herman Cain is 180 degrees away from Perry on Muslims and Illegal Mexicans.
Do you suppose that this will actually hurt or help Mr. Cain in 2012? I’m banking on the latter.

We need to look at accomplishments in office for these politicians resumes and not listen to their worthless blather.
Look at what they have voted for or supported.
Sarah Palin is smart at not announcing her candidacy. Why jump in the race right now.
Campaigns are way too long. It only gives the msm more time to beat up the non-democrat candidate.
If she wants to run and is smart she will get her name on the ballots but not announce her candidacy until next summer. Less money needed at that point and she can continue to beat obama to a pulp on face book over policy issues like she does now.
We don’t need to play the msm games anymore. The internet has freed the citizens from the grip of the msm. Think outside your boxes!
Death to islam and the msm picking potus candidates!

George W. Bush III
When he became Gov. of Texas and for a while thereafter I was impressed with this guy, but the more I learn about him the more he looks like a cross between GWB and the asshat, who’s name shall not be spoken, that was nominated in 2008.

8 years of W, and nothing was done about illegals. We don’t need anymore “compasionate conservatism”.

If a white supremacist paid the governor of a state to distribute a white-washed version of Nazi philosophy that stripped out anti-Semitism, genocide, world domination, etc., would that be considered brainwashing? Of course it would. Spencer exaggerates nothing. It’s a deceptive curriculum on Islam which serves as pure pro-Islam propaganda. People are putting their brains on PAUSE and bending over backwards to justify anything Perry does the same way the left did over Obama.
Instead of throwing our support behind the best-polling “electable” candidate while we’re over a year away from the election, why don’t we get behind a real conservative candidate and make them electable?

Ugh. The illegal Messican problem pales in comparison to this. This is an irreversible deal-breaker. Buh-Bye, candidate Perry.
No more phuqing muslim enablers in the WH! Period!
It will be interesting to see how Perry’s IOTW resident cheerleader spins this.

Marco Rubio backed Perry on in-state tuition. Yeah it’s true so maybe Rubio is a rhino?
Already been though this Ismali issue. It’s a stupid smear & the rabbis don’t buy it.
Tancredo has a personal axe to grind with Perry.
Cain said on TV to Blitzer that if Perry is the GOP nominee he won’t support him so I guess he’ll vote for Obama. Cain backed Romneycare in 2008
Oh…And Palin said “titles” aren’t everything.
Meanwhile Texas leads in exports for the 9th straight year. Our S&P upgraded to AA+ and we balanced our budget for the first time under Gov. Perry when he wouldn’t let the legislature deplete the reserve.Teachers will just have to get another job.
Veterans on disability don’t pay property taxes & the anti-sanctuary city bill pushed by Perry and tabled by Strauss will pass in the next session.
Perry will be better in the next debate, He’s never had a debate coach cause in Texas we think debates are stupid and so are bloviating speeches that last longer than 10 min. Anita will take care of it.
Since I’m assuming I’m the cheerleader you allude to I couldn’t resist…must be the ornery Texan in me.
Perry is in for the long haul.
OK hate on me now…At least I’m not Cousin Jim

@WAC, You typed a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with this issue.
Did Perry endorse this pro-Muslim curriculum or NOT?
You merely state: “Already been though this Ismali issue. It’s a stupid smear & the rabbis don’t buy it.”
Specifically, what rabbis are those? Can you supply links?
This is too serious a charge to be dismissed with a flippant comment like that. Did you read the actual lesson plans, because the curriculum is total propaganda bullshit, and certainly doesn’t belong in any taxpayer-funded public school.
Here’s the total lesson plan:

I spoke out when Geller first brought it up weeks ago & offered plenty O’ links.
Not going to do it again…redundant.
Mostly I just wanted to offer up that Tancredo has a personal snit toward Perry just like Suckabee does.
