A Tale of Two Men
Well, actually one man and one narcissistic man-child. I read this article today at Red State. It brought me to tears; tears of sadness and outrage.
President Bush would come into the room, make a few short remarks and then meet with families. In every instance he would talk to individual family members about anything they wanted to talk about, he never rushed them and he stayed until the families suggested he should talk to someone else. There was always a White House photographer present to take pictures that were made available ONLY to the families. Repeat, O.N.L.Y. the families. The press was NEVER present. There was NEVER an announcement from the White House that the President was meeting with the families of the fallen nor were they ever recognized publicly at the event. Their privacy, and their loss, was always respected.
Which brings me to the self-serving bastard who occupies the White House today. He went to Dover. One might think it was to pay respect to the fallen coming home. Wrong. It was for a G*d damn photo op. He took the White House Press Corps with him and made his visit about him.<snip>
Remember when we had a President who cared more about the troops and other people than himself? That was cool. Evidently, that is not something Obama “inherited” from Bush. I feel so totally old school, believing in silly stuff, like the President should be the Commander in Chief and should make that more of a priority than his own ego and popularity. This is Hopeandchange, baby! Progress!
There is much about the article that made me angry, disgusted, even embarrassed, that our country could elect such a man, but I can’t even wrap my brain (or what passes for some semblance of a brain) around it all. Instead, I can only focus on the depth of my gratitude to President George W. Bush.
He never wavered. He never balked. In the face of circumstances far beyond any other man holding his office has ever faced, on many fronts, he stood firm. In the face of constant and often vitriolic criticism, mostly from the very same people who are unfathomably still in the throes of mindless euphoria over a man who has no real accomplishments of which to speak, he still remained ever vigilant.
I’m not talking about the difference in their politics, nor in their policies. I had my issues with some of President Bush’s as well. I’m talking about their characters. You see, while some constantly claim that we must soley focus on skin color (you racists!) I focus on the content of character and, in Obama’s case, the lack thereof. He not only lacks guts (which could explain why he’s such a scrawny dude. It’s not just the lack of red meat nor the fancy pants arugula diet. It’s the missing spine) but he also lacks integrity and character. It’s also unnerving that his favorite word, to which he only pays lip service (that he has made perfectly clear), is empathy.
President Bush hurt himself politically, for the sake of our Country and our troops many times. He didn’t rely on empty platitudes, on “feel good” rhetoric. He made the hard choices; he took action. He led. He did. Then, he took responsibility for his choices; he grieved for them. He put each death of a soldier on his shoulders and into his heart. He didn’t pass the blame onto someone else.
President Bush, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for keeping my daughter safe from people who would not hesitate to kill her for having the temerity to be born a female. I thank you, with deeply heartfelt gratitude, for doing whatever you could to aid the men and women who fight for us, often sacrificing their lives, and at the bare minimum, the innocence of their youth.
For your humanity, your quiet, yet deep compassion, your faith, both in God and in humanity, your honest, good nature, you will always have my utmost respect and all the best wishes in the World.
Obama, you can kiss my ass. If, that is, you can pry your lips away from your own reflection long enough to do so.

C’mon! You can’t be surprised by BO using fallen Americans as props? America is just a hateful pigsty to serve the One.

The same sorry ass SOB who wouldn’t visit the wounded troops in Germany? Why? Because the press wasn’t allowed in. Does his PR team ever take a day off? I can imagine that bunch of tools hooked up to an IV drip of liquid meth. There has GOT to be a special place in hell for this self centered anal orifice. Commander in chief, my ass!

Who woulda thunk that we’d someday look back on the “Good ole Days” of the Bush administration?
I had plenty of reasons to dislike Bush, including spending like a democrat, but the man has Integrity, and he truly cared for the troops.
I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I Miss George W Bush.
Bet I’m not the only one either.

Last Sunday, we where at the Houston Texans football game, and it was to “show tribute to the military”. George Bush 1 and 2 where both there to present the honors for that day. The US Army, had the GOlden Knights parachute into the open top of the stadium, despite a 40 mph wind outside.
AND there on the big screen was the presidents. Boy they looked awfully good. Standing ovations for 5 minutes at least. Thank god they didnt flash a message from der leader, the place would have been in meltdown mode..

I tried really hard to find (and believe) an altruistic motive for this trip to Dover…but I just can’t. Bush’s visits to Dover were never seen by the public – to say nothing about having a photograph of him saluting the fallen. This visit was all about BHO, and it really pi$$es me off. And why can’t he make a decision about the troops in Afghanistan??? Delay can’t possibly make the situation any better. Fish or cut bait already.
Ditto to Jackpine Savage.
Good job Snark.

That this guy dithers while our guys are under fire, some dying, in Afghanistan is all one needs to know about his character. I honestly tried to at least respect Obama, but that is all lost now. He really doesn’t care about the troops. He is both disinclined to make the hard decision (which isn’t hard at all) of accepting McCrystal’s advice on increased troop strength. Instead, Obama looks to the likes of Joe Biden — JOE BIDEN — for advice. He’s both disinclined to make the hard decision, and he also has never made a hard decision in his life, other than ones that pertained to his own aggrandizement.

Chris Muir hit the nail on the head in his Day By Day cartoon describing Obama’s “salute”:
“One more time, Mr. President. When you salute the military – ALL the fingers are extended, not just the middle one.”
“You sure?”

That cartoon does sum it up, doesn’t it?
I know it’s not really surprising, but it infuriates me so much. More than anything else Obama has done or is trying to do. Because while *everything* he is trying to do spits in the face of Freedom, now he is showing that he gives not one whit about the people who fight for it. Freedom isn’t really free. It doesn’t cost any money, but it does have a price.
And the men and women fighing FOR US and for Freedom, and toward whom he shows such utter and reprehensible disregard, are the ones who pay that price.
That he stages photo-ops on the backs of soldiers who gave their lives fighting for this Country is sickening. As is the fact that he cares more about Fox News and their perceived “meany pants” attitude toward him, like the delusional and spoiled baby that he is, than he does for an actual War is beyond disgusting. I suppose he’s too busy to make a decision what with all his golf and all. Asshat.

Let me be clear, this is the most disgusting excuse for a president in our nation’s stellar history. Is this the limbo president? How low can we go? Let me tell you, the next guy won’t have to do much to measure up too this sorry sack of donkey vomit.
I still believe in America. This is the best place ever. But Denmark ain’t the only place where something is rotten. Okay, it’s rotten there too, stupid Danes, but I digress. Who elected this POS anyway. Sheesh! Can we get a do over?
How many crooks does it take to run America?

Let me see If I got this right. The Prez, (commander in chief), seems to take delight in spitting in the face of the military. This same Prez, seems to take equal delight in sidestepping the constitution. Were an insurrection to occur(I’m not advocating this). Do you really expect the military to protect you?
Just asking.

My daughter is a US Marine. She and five others who were training at DINFOS had the enormous privilege of meeting President Bush in February of 2007. Afterwards, she called to tell us about it, but was unable to really express herself, which is odd in itself. Her MOS is Combat Correspondent and she is a very articulate young woman.
Mostly, she said that the president had said he was especially pleased to see them right then because he needed cheering up. (I looked up his schedule; he had just returned from making a speech to a bunch of Democrats.)
He hugged the women and shook hands with the men, posed with the group and told the photographer to make sure everyone got copies of the pictures. But mostly, she said, he LOOKED at them. She said it was overwhelming, that she felt as if he was peering straight into their souls.
I wondered when I read Red State’s column if he hadn’t been thinking, “Will this one die under my command?” I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he was praying for each of them.
I have four kids in uniform. I felt more at ease with Bush at the helm when they were deployed to Iraq than I do now when none of them are in Afghanistan.

Geez, people, I wrote once that if the military stands with him, we’re doomed; if they don’t we’re in for a long, tough slog. I hope he remains blind to the slights and insults he hurls at the military. Let him keep thinking it’s all about him. Or should that be HIM?

The salute was practiced and well rendered. The
walk away, after the passing of the coffins ,was
well rehearsed and well excuted. What more can I
say? It is all well documented by the White House
Press Corp. Bush has no “evidence” of any of his
visits to the families of the fallen. Bush never even mentioned that he ever visited. CNN’s
“Lawrence” (can never get his full name) the sit in
for Olberlip screams that Bush and Chaney NEVER
VISITED DOVER, NEVER! I don’t know. Did they?
If they didn’t well they certainly visited the
families, and without much fanfare.

Nothing that this low life M*ther F*cker does should surprise anyone anymore. He is the ultimate showman and uses anyone and anything as a stage prop. He has used men, women, fake fainters, fake homeless peolpe and for God’s sake children, why wouldn’t he use dead people? He probably just sees them as more soon-to-be-registered democrat voters….

Bush was a squishey liberal, but he appeared to respect the military and the sacrifices of it’s members. He seemed to understand, as this thing doesn’t, that they are real people, doing a difficult job. I just hope that BO doesn’t catch on.

Obama is an a55. Military deaths are NOT for furthering your politics just the same as children are off-limits.
I did find that picture especially ironic considering this incident with Obama last year:
“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?” he said, when asked a foreign policy question by a reporter at the Glider Diner.

Well, when he belongs to a party that frequently voted for deploying more soldiers but against buying more vital equipment, it’s pretty hard to believe they’re not just using dead soldiers to promote themselves.
