That’s funny. Good one, IOTW. You know, when I first tuned into Fox News after work and saw this reported, I couldn’t help but think that this was just a publicity stunt put on by a media-addicted family (please refer to previous newscasts) to obtain more coverage that they desperately seek to feed their need. If you watch the interviews of the family after the boy was “found”, you will see some sort of false sincerity in everything they say, especially the parents. Personally, if it were my family, we would be shaking like a leaf, crying our eyes out, refusing interviews, and beating someone’s bare behind. Notice the father doesn’t bother to thank authorities until the very end of the interview. I would have been kissing every fireman, policeman, EMT, helicopter pilot and news reporter from the get-go. Then I would beat some 6 year old butt.

You got it right – Mr.Pinko called me like 30 secs after it hit Fox News. I said it was a hoax on the phone with him. I still say it was a hoax. And I do believe it will be exposed as one within the next 2 days.

The first witness says that when he arrived home 2 brothers were standing on a rooftop taking pictures and calling to the neighbor and pointing at the balloon saying “my brother’s in their, he’s really high up.”
The guy looked at the parents and they were “acting distraught.”
When I was a kid, if I saw my parents distraught, I got distraught.
It meant something bad was happening. The kids knew full well the brother wasn’t in the balloon. And when one child is flying away to supposed peril, YOU GET THE OTHER KIDS OFF THE ROOF! This case smells- fishy. Where’s that fishy.gov e-mail?

My thoughts exactly. I saw the live interview with the dad – he’s a lying narcissist, didn’t even think to say thank you to the rescuers till one of the reporters asked him if he wanted to say anything. What an A$$. There’s no way I would show my face if this were my kid – I would have been frantic and a basket case, not wanting to parade my family out in the news right away the way this dad did. The family doesn’t act normal. This reeks of Susan Smith lies.

PLUS – If a kid is so afraid of his parents being mad that he wants to hide, he doesn’t go around getting a few snacks and toys to take with him up in the attic. He said he came down because he got bored, and then on Larry King Live said he heard them calling for him but didn’t come out. When asked why, he said, “You guys said we did this for the show.” I hope these parents are prosecuted. There is something very wrong there.
