How Could Kagan Not Be Asked About Lesbianism?
During confirmation hearings Elena Kagan should be asked if she is a lesbian. But not for any reason other than to find out if she has a significant other. If she does, that information is germane to the procedure, just as it is when confirming a heterosexual.
Kagan cannot allowed to be stealth in this regard. Her being a lesbian should not keep her from becoming a judge. But say her partner is, let’s say, Angela Davis, that would be a very big deal, and it’s information that we would have the right to know about.
A heterosexual’s spouse is fair game, a homosexual’s partner is too. I’m afraid that this issue is relevant and must be pursued.

You couldn’t possibly hurt anyone’s feelings. Besides that…obama is supposed to be a swinger..so I am sure that is sensitive material.

Fox News 10-3-08
Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank’s relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.
Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical.
“It’s absolutely a conflict,” said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. “He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?
“If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have – or at least what’s not in the stock market – that this would be considered germane,” added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow. “But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard.”

I’m not making any point other than that the left cannot claim these questions are out of bounds, for the sake of privacy and sensitivity or decency, or homophobia, or whatever they will claim, in order to confirm stealth candidates.
Who they are, sexually, is relevant, just as it’s relevant in heterosexual marriages. (YES, for the sake of the argument I said “marriages,” WTF. Are you dumb or just pretend to be?)

I can tell you right now that there is no question about it. She is a lesbian and that is exactly the type of freak show that Obama wanted. I watched the rest of America chat for change and I saw right there before my eyes, the American dream burn down to the ground. Obama is now killing all the good things we had going. Ms. Kagan, do you have a significant other?
Who is it?
If not, have you had one in the past five years?
Who was it?
That will get the answer without offending the Offensibles.

“Dana Perino and S.E. Cupp were lesbian”
no – that would be sort of sad news. I rather hear that they were BI! Then you could always have that one dream that you walk in on Dana and S.E. and they don’t see you at first. They’re so involved with each other that … WTF am I doing? I got confused. I thought this was the “Dear Penthouse” forum. Sorry. Carry on.

Without this process it could be the new way of getting an off the hook radical’s voice to the bench- nominate the partner of the radical.

So homosexuals get to have it both ways (so to speak)?
They can lobby to have significant partners gain entrance to hospitals as spouses, but this person may never be brought up at confirmation hearings?
Gotcha.

Then we shouldn’t ask any other nominee about their spouses or partners or close associates, which, as you know, they do during confirmation hearings.
Homosexuals do not get a free pass on that.
The issue cannot be simultaneously -
our life partners are every bit as important and significant to us than any marriage (a point I agree with, BTW) / don’t ask about my private life, it is insignificant,and/or embarrassing, or not germane, or impolite to ask.

Hold those Flintstone feet to the fire…this is from her in 1995:
“When the Senate ceases to engage nominees in meaningful discussion of legal issues, the confirmation process takes on an air of vacuity and farce.” That critic’s name? Elena Kagan.

But that would only be true in a world that still made sense, up=up, down=down, etc. and I do not believe we are living in that world anymore.

I saw something tonight that CBS news and the Wa Po outed her today and also that her partner is out and well-known at Harvard.
It’s not her partner that I worry so much about, it’s her feelings, and her empathy, and her intuition, and her heart, and all that other BS that will lead her to a gay type of Roe v. Wade decision. Since that is not the law of the land either.
