Message To Major League Baseball
((UPDATE 2- I’m thinking I have a great head on my shoulders, turns out it’s Jon’s from Exurban League! Great minds, or just two idiots that think alike? Check out this post! In a flurry of tweets to the Phoenix Suns he included this tweet – @PhoenixSuns Here’s how you avoid being called hypocrites: Don’t man the arena gates & whoever sneaks in w/out a ticket gets to stay!))
~snip~
This is a letter that went out to MoveOn.org members:
Dear MoveOn member,
The new anti-immigration law in Arizona–which allows police to stop anyone they “reasonably” suspect of being in the U.S. illegally, and demand their papers–is an affront to basic American values.1
And a recent round of calls for repeal is coming from an unusual source: Major League Baseball players, nearly 30% of whom are Latino.2Players are demanding that the 2011 All-Star Game be moved from Phoenix, AZ unless the law is repealed—and we’ve got to get their backs. MLB Commissioner Bud Selig has the final decision on whether to move the All-Star Game, but he isn’t likely to listen to the players unless he hears from fans too.
Our friends at MoveTheGame.org, a project of Presente.org, have launched a petition to urge Commissioner Selig to move the game—can you sign today? Clicking here will add your name:
~snip~
I have a new message for Major League Baseball (and any other sports franchise that attempts to punish Arizona) and I hope Moron.org is listening. If you move the all-star game I will be starting my own movement:
SNEAK INTO ALL SPORTS VENUES ILLEGALLY
Those borders around the sporting events that keep you from realizing the dream of going to a baseball game? Pffffft. SNEAK IN! And if any usher asks to see your ticket to the game, cry out, in a foreign language, that your CIVIL RIGHTS ARE BEING VIOLATED!!!
But it doesn’t end there. You sit in your seat and DEMAND that the people around you pay for your hot dogs and beer. And that line at the bathroom, the bathroom that is for paying customers, why just move to the head of that line, mister. As a guy who sneaked into the arena you have protection status! Moron.org has your back!
Furthermore, if you sneak in with your pregnant wife and she has a baby at the game – SEASON TICKET HOLDER! That’s right!
Don’t know anything about the game? Well, that qualifies you to be the announcer at the game! You heard me. Go right up to that announcing booth and give the most incoherent sporting announcement the rest of the paying fans ever heard. If they complain, tell them to suck it.
Sure, this sounds funny and seems like I’m making a big joke out of this, but I’m dead serious. If Bud Selig caves to the minority in this country, and moves the all-star game, I am going to attempt to organize a CRASH the GATES campaign where people around the country, in very large groups, overwhelm the ticket takers and storm into the stadiums.
It would be pretty pathetic to see all the venues beef up security to prevent people from “crossing the border illegally.” It would be a poignant visual metaphor for everything that is wrong with this entire illegal immigration issue.
UPDATE:
Some of the readers here have MoveOn memberships. I would like to know if you can give a list of some events they are sponsoring that require a fee to get in. I want to see if we can organize enough people to crash these events.

How many of the Latino players are here illegally?
Those players come here for a better life, and if they don’t like our country they should quit baseball and go home.

Moveon has frequant requests for people to host a screening of a movie. I always sign up,have them mail me the DVD,throw it away and cancel the party.
Now I am going to do something I always wanted to.
I am going to go ahead and sign up to host the next party. I will show “WORLD TRADE CENTER” instead of the liberal film they send me.
I will let you know if anyone shows up.

@menderman — excellent point. Not one baseball player is in the country illegally, from the minors all the way through. So the question becomes, what exactly is the stake MLB has in all of this? (other than bowing down to pressure because of the risk of losing revenue). The Great American Pastime should stand strong and support the Great American Country.

The HuffPo article reminds me that sports (and the military — so far) are really the only two American institutions that have not fallen to the Left. When asked why this was, a Moron.org spokesperson said, “Thporths are tho thcary!” and referred us to the cancelled Mancrunch Superbowl ad.

Hey Sicsemtyr, what about the rural “Mom and Pop bait and tackle shop” institution. They haven’t caved to the left yet!! You don’t see too many gay bait shop owners do you?
Unfortunately, I have to disagree about sports — some sports have caved. The NBA is pretty damed liberal, if you ask me. Steve Nash is about as leftarded an athlete as has ever been inflicted on the city of Phoenix. It’ll be interesting to see the fan reaction — I’m not sure which way it will go
And what about the Olympics? On the other hand, MLB and the NFL and college football (away from the coasts) is still pretty conservative.

I am burning all my identification, enhancing my tan, watching old Desi Arnez episodes, and I am pumped. I think I can scale the fence, but I don’t know if I can get over, might have to land on the smokers but I will sacrifice their bodies for the cause.

I’ll peruse my in box for moveon emails and let you know. I delete most of them as they come in, but I may have a few. Would you like me to forward them to you? Most time they ask me to organize parties, sign petitions and donate money. They always have links to “prove” their point or position. Many time they use the Huffington Post and media matters as references…very sad.

Talking about crashing moveon events, on their virtual march on wall street, I was adding comments to their list like “Capitalism Sucks” and “Corporate profit is evil” and “I want free healthcare” and “Tax Wall Street, not me” and so on….

This was the rest of the e-mail moveon sent me:
The petition says: “Do what’s best for baseball: Move the 2011 All-Star Game unless Arizona changes its harmful and hateful immigration law.”
The Arizona law has outraged many ball players and fans alike. Among those who’ve spoken out against the law are All-Star Adrian Gonzalez of the San Diego Padres and World Series-winning manager Ozzie Guillen of the Chicago White Sox, and the MLB Players Association condemned the law last week.3
Given that Arizona stands to make upwards of $60 million from the All-Star Game, calling for a change of venue is a powerful demand both politically and economically.4
And there’s precedent here: in 1993, the NFL pulled Super Bowl XXVII out of Tempe, Arizona because the state didn’t recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We can do it again, and send a clear message to Arizona lawmakers that players and fans won’t stand for this new law.5
Our friends at http://www.MoveTheGame.org, a project of Presente.org and Fenton, will deliver the petition signatures to MLB headquarters, join with players, managers, and veterans to speak out, and make sure both Selig and the press hear the call that the game must be moved. Presente.org will also keep you updated by email about progress and further developments.
Can you sign MoveTheGame.org’s petition today? The more folks who sign, the stronger the message—so click below to sign, then send this email to ten of your friends today.

@BFH — Can you think of any other reason MLB might cave than loss of revenue (sponsors pulling ads, etc.)?
If they don’t cave, 1) possibly some of the players from the Latin countries might get noisy, but what’s their choice? Play here and make good money or go back home to not much, if anything. Don’t see that happening. If it does, so what? There are plenty of good old American boys waiting for their chance to play.
2) Players Union might strike. Hallelujah! That would hurt the owners and players more than the American public as a whole.
Not only lower revenue, but zero revenue.
However, if MLB does cave in, there would be a Fans Strike. If they truly think this through, and not act out of supposed political correctness, this would be their worst scenario. Major revenue drop from lack of ticket sales, loss of shared revenue from concession sales and merchandise sales, loss of television revenue — no high viewership means no high-priced ads.
In other words, I personally think they are going to go whichever way lessens the impact of losing the almighty dollar and not whichever way best supports the game and country.

Don’t forget…if you’re white they won’t even bother looking to see if you snuck in! ‘Brown’ looking? No so fast mister…where’s your ticket! White? Pshh…they must’ve paid for their ticket. Move along.

Baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie…
So, first the commies go after apple pie with the alar scare in 1986.
They’re going after hot dogs by bemoaning the horrors of nitrates.
And now, baseball.
