Man Who Lobbied For Safe Act Brings Gun To School Gets Arrested
Dwayne Ferguson spent more than a decade advocating for nonviolence and peace in the streets of Buffalo.
He was a well-known face in the movement for the SAFE Act, the state law that made carrying a gun on school property a felony. He was also a familiar presence in the hallways of the city’s Harvey Austin Elementary School, where he worked in the after-school program and mentored students.
No one imagined that on Thursday he would show up at the school in possession of a gun, touching off an hours-long lockdown, search and ultimately his arrest on two felony charges.
Ferguson, 52, told WGRZ-TV that he frequently carries the gun, for which he has a permit, and did not realize he had it on him when he went to the school as part of the mentoring program.
Those who have worked with him also said they believe it was an honest mistake.

Yeah, sure.
Why is it you just can’t trust people anymore?

Maybe it’s just me, but I know where my weapon is at all times.
Same lame excuses. I forgot to take it out of my suitcase. Didn’t realize i was carrying it. Forgot to unload it before I let the baby play with it.

Beware of those who would help create laws for each of us to follow, then act shocked when caught breaking their own rules. They are in special class of tyrants on their own.

Gee, some media hack has more background on this guy, in an attempt to tell us what a great guy he is, than they’ve covered about the Communist background of Obama to this day.

Oh, what joy, when Leftists get punished by the traps they themselves set.

“It was not until police were patting down students so they could evacuate the school that they found the gun on Ferguson, Brinkworth said.”
So the dumb a$$ let the police search of hours and never told them he had his gun. Either he’s stupid or he thinks everyone else is to believe his story.
My favorite quote from the article: “Some of Ferguson’s supporters echoed similar criticism, saying that carrying a weapon meant Ferguson could have helped police in the event there was a gunman actually threatening students.”
Steele Dan had nothing on these Progs and their Pretzel Logic.

The movie version will be a comedy, and Tracy Morgan will play Ferguson as a lovable tard, and the gun will have been slipped into his pocket by a white real estate developer who wants to raze the school and build condos.

What you see is Black Supremacy in action. He’s special because of whitey’s ‘skriminations an sheeit.
He carries because he’s afraid of being attacked by niggers.
Ponder that.

“forgot he had his gun on him” BULLSHIT!!!! Every time you put your holster on and drop your your pistol in YOU KNOW where your pistol is. In fact carrying your weapon even limits places you go and things you can do, i.e. go to a school, daycare center, courthouse, banks yes even credit unions or even have a beer with friends. I call BULLSHIT on his part and his pals defending his stupidity. I can see another David Gregory story happening here

Went to Dallas. Our hosts took us to the Sixth Floor Museum. Guess what? They screen everyone who is going upstairs, just like the airport. Had to go back to the car to leave my pistol. What’s the point? The damage has already been done!

“Both Schools Superintendent Pamela C. Brown and Kevin Brinkworth, the district’s chief of police, school safety and security, said it is unclear why Ferguson had the gun on school property, but officials do not believe he had any ill intent.”
So Dwayne will get a pass, and the law will stand. Pity the poor innocent white guy who walks into the school with a gun.

I submit that if it were there, he’d know EXACTLY where it was…

I dunno. I forget mine is on me because it IS–everywhere I go. By that I mean I don’t consciously think about it. I’ve come close to wandering in to a “gun free zone” a time or two; might happen some day. For the most part, I just refuse to go where we’re not welcome. That may go back to my having been a cop and not having to think about it though. Or maybe from growing up in a free country where I never worried about it until the last few years.
