Roll Call

Updated 6:12 p.m. | House lawmakers from both sides of the aisle sent a letter to President Barack Obama Wednesday asserting that striking Syria without prior Congressional authorization would be unconstitutional.

As we reported Tuesday, the letter penned by Rep. Scott Rigell, R-Va., pushes the president to “receive authorization from Congress before ordering the use of U.S. military force in Syria.”

While the letter lacks signatures from top leaders — Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, wrote his own letter to Obama Wednesday afternoon — it now has 98 Republican and 18 Democratic supporters.

The letter was sent to the president after 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Among the Republicans on the letter are Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Texas, House Republican Policy Committee Chairman James Lankford of Oklahoma and some close Boehner allies, including Tom Latham of Iowa, Mike Simpson of Idaho, Tom Cole of Oklahoma, and Tom Price of Georgia.

Democrats include Rep. Peter A. DeFazio of Oregon, the ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee, and Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota, the ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee.

I read through the list of signers. What a shock. The beady-eyed douchenozzle from District 24 in NY, my stupid, ass-faced prick of a Congressman’s name is not a the list. I went to Dan Maffei’s Congressional site and every single posting was about how he got money for this or that special interest group. We’re fracking broke — nearly seventeen trillion dollars in debt, and my idiot Congressman remains your typical Liberal Democrat hack.

Most of what Obummer has done while in office is unconstitutional and no one says anything for fear of being called a racists. A letter of impeachment if we strike without Congress authorizing, should already be written up. BTW, I think we should mind our own business on this one, let them kill each other.

My Congressman, Walter Jones, is on the list. I hounded him for 36 hours about it and he finally came around. Y’all do the same to yours if they aren’t on the list.

    Per The Drudge Report:

OBAMA EYES ‘SHOT ACROSS THE BOW’ IN SYRIA…
AP: INTELLIGENCE ON CHEMICAL WEAPONS USE NO ‘SLAM DUNK’…
NYT: ‘No smoking gun’ that links Assad to attacks…
UK Cameron: No 100% certainty Syria used CW — ‘This is a judgment’…
… Backs down on urgent strikes amid Parliament revolt

So these congressmen signed a letter which specifically notes that 0bama’s actions in Libya were unconstitutional. They signed a letter. So if he takes action on his own in Syria what are they going to do? Write a more strongly-worded letter? 0bama has already publicly done unconstitutional acts. They just noted that in the letter. Yet they have not taken any action. I believe this is called enabling.

Here is the email I sent my Rep:

    Mr. Paulsen,

I have voted for you ever since you ran for the 3rd district. I think you are doing a great job.

However, I have three specific things I’d like to ask you.

    1) Why is your name not on the list of congressmen that signed a letter to President Obama to ensure he secures Congressional support before he attacks Syria? Isn’t it your job to make sure the president doesn’t become a dictator and take this country wherever he wants to go without the consent of the people? It is unconstitutional.

    2) You are also not on the list of congressmen who are supporting the defunding of Obamacare. Why? Are you actually concerned that the media and the left will “blame” Republicans for the shutdown of the government? Seriously? Don’t you know that this is the bullying tactics of a weak-minded people who just want power and have no concern for what it will do to the people of this country? Don’t fall into their trap. If the government shuts down, it’s not the fault of the Republicans for refusing to defund the worst bill ever passed – Obamacare – but the fault lies in the people who passed the vile piece of legislation.

    3) What is your stand on the Immigration bill passed by the Senate? I am 100% against ANY new law passed regarding immigration, amnesty, pathway to citizenship, or any other name you want to call it. There should be no new laws until the current laws are being enforced. When that happens (current laws enforced), give it 5-10 years and then see whether illegal aliens are a problem or not. If so, then I would bet that the laws we now have on the books are not being followed and upheld.

There. Now if you would do something about that turncoat, John Boehner. Maybe kicking him out of the speakership would be great. He is acting like a mini-dictator and is no longer concerned with the will of the people of this country; only is retaining his glorious position. He should never have kicked out the conservative and Tea Party backed congressmen from their positions of leadership. He wants no discussions or feedback; he only wants power.

Thank you for all you do. I am watching.

    Golden,
Substitute “All” for “Most” since his very presence in the Whitehouse is unconstitutional based upon fake birth certificate, fake SS, fake SElective Service registration, not having two US citizen parents, etc.
Also stolen election with 100 plus percent participation in many precincts. I quit watching Fox News last November when Megyn Kelly was racing to be the first to call it bor BHO.
