WTFRIG??????????

Take a look at this photo at NYTimes.com

Are YOU FRIGGING KIDDING ME? I can’t even editorialize. This has rendered me incapable of my usual hunt and pecking… or typing, even.

Erick Erickerson of RedState asks @ewerickson: Is this photoshopping the NYTs’ way of endorsing the idea that Obama is now god? http://tinyurl.com/yekr5jt #tcot #sgp

Cheryl Prater, who gave me the heads up on this, says: “Obama in shadow on a cross, shining castle in distance. The One willing to sacrifice self for Obamacare to save us all. From our liberty.”

    There is no question that the rising costs of health care needs to be addressed. But the real question is do we really trust our government to make it cheaper?

    @Rightwingfeather –

    There is no question that the rising costs of health care needs to be addressed. But the real question is do we really trust our government to make it cheaper?

    If the rising costs of health care need to be addresses how come we aren’t asking questions like these:

    What pct of total cost goes to
    - govt-mandated bureaucracy?
    - govt bureaucracy itself?
    - extra regulatory costs in developing drugs?
    - extra regulatory costs in developing medical equipment?
    - extra costs in care plans because of prohibition on interstate business?

    And then there are is unequal pricing of services. Medicare/Medicaid payments do not cover costs so docs and hospitals make up the difference primarily in what they charge those who aren’t in heavyweight plans that also negotiate prices down, something individuals are not in any position to do.

    The biggest portion of medical care costs are the direct result of govt control. When 0 and his ilk say that “Doing nothing is not an option” they are flat wrong. The best thing they could do is nothing, so long as that meant repealing every damned law purporting to help us.

    Sheesh. Sorry. This stuff does get me a mite excited at times.

    An interesting (or perhaps not) observation in the imagery – the cross was adopted by the Christian church as a religious symbol of hope, but historically it was one of the most cruel methods of executing criminals and political opponents imaginable. In point of fact, execution by cruxifiction was so cruel that Roman citizens were not subject to this manner of punishment as one of the benefits of citizenship.

    So one can interpret this photograph different ways. The Times apparently tries to equate Obama with some sort of messiah, but the image can also be interpreted as a leader trying to kill our system as slowly and painfully as possible.

    @Uncle Al, Mike

    I agree. That is a huge part of the problem. Instead of addressing those issues that face Medicare and Medicaid, and other government run programs, we are adding on a whole new program, a whole entitlement, that will be run as effectively and efficiently as the others.

    Instead of looking at why health costs are so high, liberals have automatically signed up for yet another government “benefit,” not understanding that part of those rising health care costs are inherently due to our government bureaucracy itself.

    The problem here is that you have a group of elected officials who are too stupid to address the real problem, and you have another group who are very smart and understand that they DO NOT want to address health care problem; they want to address something else and call it health care.

    The problem that they are addressing in this bill is how best to control the people. And the fix for that is government intrusion in all aspects of our lives, including involvement in those personal decisions which are best left to the patient and the physician.

    We need real leadership now from our conservative officials, or I fear that this will be just one more nail in the coffin of our United States as we know it.

    I recall when Congress was trying to scam us with the shamnesty vote BEFORE the Presidential election, there was a loud, convincing groundswell of opposition from around the country. If it was led by some organized organized movement, I never heard of it. There was certainly no Tea Party back then.

    Just ordinary citizens voicing their vehement opposition to another Democrat flim flam. Citizens burned up the phones lines and fax machines, sent e-mails, and made their opposing views be clearly known. Amnesty? HELL NO!!!!

    This week we can do it again, and we don’t even have to get off our asses. Just call, fax, e-mail, but do SOMETHING to try and stop this life threatening behemoth from destroying our lives with cradle to grave government domination.
