Stupak: Dems Told Me Funding Abortion Is Good, Because Kids Are Costly

Home - by Lori Ziganto - March 13, 2010 - 12:39 UTC - 37 Comments

From RedState:

Bart Stupak just had a revelation. And it’s a disturbing one.

Sitting in an airport, on his way home to Michigan, Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, is chagrined. “They’re ignoring me,” he says, in a phone interview with National Review Online. “That’s their strategy now. The House Democratic leaders think they have the votes to pass the Senate’s health-care bill without us. At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve. And even if they don’t have the votes, it’s been made clear to us that they won’t insert our language on the abortion issue.”

What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”

We knew this. For all their talk of pro-choice, the far left is actually pro-abortion. It’s about an agenda to them, not about life. And remember, not too long ago Senator Feinstein said it was “morally correct” to fund abortion. This just exposes the face underneath the mask a bit more. Now, it isn’t just about funding abortion, but using it as a cost-saving tool. Bart Stupak is realizing that now — in a moment of division with his party, he had some clarity. He is a Democrat insider and he sees this chilling reality in his own Caucus.

The Brave New World cometh. Americans should not be burdened with children. Too costly. Merle has it right: Fire up the ovens, retrofit communal showers. May God help us all.

    Yes, buns in the oven.

Just think how many billions or even trillions of dollars we could save right now if we applied retro-active abortion to the members of Congress.

This nation has been usurped by people that wish to enslave us. I’ll have no part of that. I will die standing rather than live on my knees. Pfffffftttttt!

How can anyone be surprised? If you read Tom Daschle’s book or heard Robert Reich’s guest rant at Berkeley they are all about denying health care to certain groups(the elderly, those with dementia etc). The frigging president suggested that the hip replacement his grandmother(who as far as I can tell was the one feeding and clothing his ass) got was an unwise expenditure of taxes. Go to youtube and look up the audio of Reich speaking at Berkeley. If the things he says don’t scare you, the ovations he gets from the progressive douchebags in attendance will.

Uncle Al. I feel THEY are trying to change the system. From a republic governed by a Constitution, with a system of checks and balances, a loyal oposition, decent men (and women) on both sides.
Good people can change the present attitude towards
governing. There are good people there but they are out of power. I paraphrase Winston Churchill:

@Moe Tom – It seems likely that we are in full agreement except on this: you see the change to the system as in progress and I see it as so far along as to be practically irreversible. Other than that, we clearly are 100% together in the view that what has happened sucks, what is happening sucks, and what looks to be about to happen sucks.

And “sucks” is just a short stand-in word that really means “infuratingly progressive collectivist authoritarian anti-freedom anti-human ideological bloody-mindedness.” Or something along those lines.

The far left aren’t the only ones with ants in their pants to kill more, more, more babies in the womb. Decades and fifty million-plus infant cadavers after Roe v. Wade, even heretofore “decent” people now shrug off the horrors of abortion as if murdering a defenseless little baby has less moral significance than swatting at a fly.

And at a dizzying clip, the voices of those who are still appalled by this grisly reality are being ridiculed, shouted down, and all but drummed out of existence by supposed “God-fearing” people who have believed a lie, and who refuse to stand up and be counted for anything that diverges from the liberal party line.

Recently I was told by a Christian friend to be still, when I had conveyed to another individual that I was actively anti-abortion. My Christian friend told me that it was counter-productively antagonistic of me to point out my views, and that with my take-no-prisoners attitude I ran the risk of “alienating” someone who might be hurting because they or their daughter may have had an abortion.

To that I said (and say), well, if offending someone who funded an abortion, or embarrassing their co-worker who happens to be present in the room, is the only collateral damage from my standing up for what’s right (which costs me nothing), I’ll gladly be a loudmouthed fool for the little babies.

The champions of “Tiller the Killer” prate in a wounded howl that the good doctor was gunned down “in the presence of his family members” while attending church. To that I say, the womb is the original sanctuary, created and sanctioned by the true and living God, and every aborted child is murdered in that sanctuary, in the presence of the one family member who should never allow anyone to hurt them: their own mother.

Oh, and … Dianne Feinstein wouldn’t know “morally correct” from a recipe for banana bread.

Uncle Al. I’m afraid you are right. But there is still an ember smoldering in that fire. There are some good men and women out there who have learned a few lessons this past year. If they act from the heart they will be good for America. If they change because they see the political winds changing then we are pfucked because they have no heart. They will have to be carefully watched. I like Goooh.com.

Jenny. I recently made a statement among friends at a very Catholic meeting. Had to do with abortion.
I was called aside after the meeting and told that I misspoke as one of our member’s daughter had an
abortion a year ago and he was upset about what I said about abortion. I had not known about his daughter’s problem. At the Bar after the meeting(that’s where business is done in most organizations), he confronted me with a “who the fu*k are you to say yadadada. I told him as diplomatically as possible to quit the organization,if he believed in abortion because his daughter got knocked up and decided to kill the baby. It was nasty and believe me neither of us made friends. But he knows he’s dead wrong. Tough call for a layman. But I know where I stand.

It really suprises me that no one that I have seen has compared our current political “crisis” to the great Sci-Fi flick “Soylent Green”. Overpopulated world, government suicide centers and limited resources of that 70’s film fit nicely with AGW, obamacare and cap and trade…

I think I’ll put that on my Netflix list to refresh my self on current events…

To Progressives, it is the lives of the peasants and those less worthy than they that are cheap. Why insist on Federal funding for abortions unless you intend to encourage abortions among the poor? The limousine liberals could certainly afford abortions for their womenfolk if that was their “choice,” but that would not serve to keep the numbers of the filthy unwashed under control. The masses need abortion – not the elite – and therefore the all-knowing government must do what it can to encourage it, including paying for the procedure. This is Feinstein’s “moral choice.”

We have seen this movie before, and in point of fact there are still many people still living who have experienced it. Although the National Socialists of Germany (call a Nazi what he or she really was, I say) were righfully condemned for their atrocities, but in point of fact what they intended to do was rid their society of “undesireables.” Furthermore, many other world leaders stood by with full knowledge of these atrocities; after all, the victims were just the mental defectives, Gypsies, Slavs and Jews – none of which were the equals of their betters.

Reality Check … studies done in areas where abortion was, then wasn’t free showed what anyone with half a brain could figure out without a study.

I.e., when abortion is free, women are more careless about birth control.

Pro-aborts would have us believe that free abortion would protect all those poor women who are forced to endure motherhood for want of a few hundred bucks. As if.

The reality is that when abortion was free, the birth rate stayed the same. It was the CONCEPTION and ABORTION rates that went UP.

    Duh.

The REAL reason pro-aborts want abortions in the health bill is so that abortions will be more profitable and abortion supporting Democrats can get more money from pro-abortion political donations.

Abortionists have learned that they cannot charge more than $300 to $500 per for a cash abortion.
Insurance pays thousands, not hundreds, for the same procedure. This is what they were getting 30 years ago and the problem is killing off the clinics in low income areas one by one.

    (Cry me a river.)

Abortion is mainly about making money by killing blacks. It always has been. If you don’t believe me, go to http://www.lifedynamics.com/Abortion_Information/Pro-life_Product/maafa.cfm
