Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Tell’
Nancy Pelosi proves that it is possible to give “tells”, even if your face can’t move and you are an accomplished liar. First, the “she made an utter fool of herself” part, because any chance to point and snicker at Pelosi is A-Okay with me. While giving a speech to the National Association of Counties, Pelosi said the following:
“You’ve heard about the controversies, the process about the bill…but I don’t know if you’ve heard that it is legislation for the future – not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America,” she told the National Association of Counties annual legislative conference, which has drawn about 2,000 local officials to Washington. “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it – away from the fog of the controversy.”
Pelosi is basically saying, as the Left tends to do, “You silly rubes! You just don’t realize how super awesome it is and how smart we are. We can’t wait around for you common folk to figure it out, so we’ll just ram it down your throats without any of your pesky input. Just be grateful that you still have tonsils in those throats, no thanks to nefarious tonsil reaping doctors and evil Republicans!”
Sigh. I suppose we should be flattered that she merely called us dummies this time, instead of her usual tactic of shamelessly demagoguing citizens by calling them evil and Un-American. Still, it proves that perhaps the botox was injected too deeply and hit her cerebral cortex. Most people, Speaker Pelosi, don’t leap before they look. It’s like saying “Hey, let’s amputate your foot and then check to see if it’s gangrenous.”
Now we move onto the subsequent “tell” part of the speech. She went on to say this:
“We need to focus on the next generation, not the next election,” she said.
Put aside the fact that we all know that if she and the Democrats really cared about the next generation itself, they wouldn’t be saddling them with debt before they are even born. And they would, you know, not support killing some of them before they are born. It’s not about the next generation *itself* to Pelosi and other ideologues on the Left. And it’s certainly not about the next election; they’ve shown over and over that they are willing to throw each other under the bus in order to further a collective agenda.
Pelosi just admitted as much above. They don’t care about the next election.
They don’t care about the will of the people. They care about control and a “next generation” of ever growing bureaucracy and all-powerful, freedom-stifling Government. As I wrote the other day, it’s not about health care, it’s about the size and growth of Big Daddy Government and a fundamental change of our entire Country and the principles upon which it was founded. THAT is what she wants for the “next generation.” That is what it is all about.
If it is not about that for some of the more moderate Democrats, they’d best heed those words. Pelosi just told them that she’s more than willing to sacrifice them and their re-election bids.
I’m not trying to be a gloomy gus nor overly pessimistic. Just realistic. Some of the greatest tragedies in history occurred when people mistakenly believed “that can’t happen here.”

Where I live it is very rural, there are many places across America similar where Counties are the government. They tend to be very frugal and limited, run by neighbors and friends, in touch and for the people, each county has a highly vested interest in economy of living, it has to be that way because funds are limited due to such low population density’s. There is the wonderful lack of duplication of services and little kingdoms filled with potentates and brother in law jobs in every town; common sense rules. This conference with pelosi is brain washing tactics, slimy indoctrination into the superior ways and means of the progressives; Implied hand outs of vast sums of government cash. Corrupting and Destroying the close connection between rural communities and county seats is a sure fire means to undermining all those bitter savages that cling to bibles and weapons, rubes if you will who are predominately deeply Patriotic.

Pelose’s outrageous comment about passing the bill so we can find out what’s init makes me want to force feed her a slurry of all 2,700 pages shredded and mixed with five pounds of habanero peppers and a gallon of syrup of ipecac.
Some other thoughts:
First, fire all the congressional staffers except those who answer the phone, email, and snailmail from constituents.
Next, rewrite the House and Senate rules so that each piece of proposed legislation deals with one and only one issue. Require the legalese bill to be prefaced with an explanation in plain English that
(a) says what they’re trying to accomplish,
(b) identifies the specific section of the Constitution that allows them to act in the way proposed,
(c) defines an objective measure of success or failure at accomplishing the goal, and
(d) sets a specific date no more than two years in the future when the law, if passed, automatically repeals itself, unless it both
(d1) has met the objective test for success, and
(d2) is re-enacted in its entirety with no modifications.
That’ll slow ‘em down. Not enough, perhaps, but a lot.
Oh, yeah, part of passing a bill should be a mandatory Supreme Court review for constitutionality and if it fails, all congressvermin voting for it be inelegible for reelection.
Yeah, some call me a dreamer…but it is a satisfying dream even if it is utter fantasy.

Al – Mark Levin said nearly the same thoughts on his show yesterday – the first being no law can be passed until they show where it is permitted under the Constitution. So, they were all good thoughts.
