Facing federal warnings that this summer’s stink bug invasion will be the worst ever, House lawmakers have OK’d a bill demanding that the Agriculture Department make the bug Public Pest No. 1 and speed efforts to kill it.

On Thursday, the House included language in a spending bill that directs Agriculture to prioritize ways to combat stink bugs, poised to wreak disaster in the nation’s fruit and vegetable fields later this summer. The stink bug has reached 39 states.

“Whether you have a home herb garden or acres of farmland, we can all agree that the pervasive problem of stink bug infestation needs to be tackled head-on,” said Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf, the plan’s sponsor. “The apple industry in the Mid-Atlantic states has lost tens of millions of dollars to these pests, and they threaten the vineyards that are an important part of Virginia’s economy,” he said.  MORE

    In the 1970s, during Governor Moonbeam’s first reign of error, he wouldn’t override any municipality that did not want to spray Malathion to kill the Medfly. It was Death from the skies! and The new DDT! and other such libtard bullshit. Despite the fact that Malathion is an organic phosphate insecticide, C 10 H 19 O 6 S 2 P, of relatively low toxicity for mammals.

    Realizing that CA was going to lose its agriculture industry because no other state would allow CA produce within its borders, the spraying started. And there were no deaths. No no birth defects. Nothing. Except dead bugs.

    Libtards have a long history of stupidity concerning pesticides.

    @ Stranded

    Absolutely. DDT not only save crops, I was under the impression that it actually saved lives in 3rd world countries. Places that had disease issues because of mosquitos and flies. Until it was “outlawed”.

    I could be wrong and maybe I’m believing an old wive’s tail…..

    Thank you Anonymous.

    I knew I had heard that somewhere. Couldn’t remember where.

    We abort babies and allow disease to run rampant to save some animals.

    Disgusting.

    Oh…and I meant Wive’s tale. The only “wife tail” I care about is my wife’s tail.

    No Mary, apparently neither does Christy the Large.

    He’s earmarking the money from widows and orphans to commemorate a saxophone player.

    @Anonymous–

    It’s all about the optics. Or the “audiotics”, if you are referencing the saxophone player. (That’s not the proper word, but it sounds satisfyingly like “idiotic”. Which all of this is.)
