“Do you know what happens when people start to learn?”

I sure do! Are you sure you want that, or do you just want to give it lip service?

Great but my kids love shows like how it’s made, the universe, what is that?, stuff you should know and other real educational programs that are still available on cable, on demand. When he wants to know about something like tornadoes or cheetahs we can find one hundred educational videos on the subject on you tube that we can watch full size on apple tv. Mr. rogers or sesame street would bore them to tears.

Sesame street taught one letter a day, my kids learned how to read using interactive reading egg software on line at their own pace before they were four.

Kids with decent parents are way smarter and more technically sophisticated than we were at that age. I don’t see why we need to pay for PBS anymore.

What the hell did I just watch? That was supposed to be parody? Even visual stuff is beginning to seem like a foreign language to me. Contemporary media has just become utter gobbledygook.

The only thing keeping me grounded these days are classic movies I find and watch on YouTube and listening to all the fantastic music once-upon-a-time very talented people used to make from the 40′s, 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, and early 90′s.

What day did real talent and creativity die here in the US?

And I need to add that the other thing keeping me grounded and sane these days is iOTW and all the wonderfully smart, witty and knee slappin’ funny commenters here at iOTW.

Thank you all for the the times you have given me so much cause for laughter when I’m otherwise feeling pretty depressed about, well, just about everything.
