Well, I’m assuming from my days as a bouncer at one of the rowdiest saloons on the East Slope of Colorado at the Little Bear Saloon in Evergreen, that the reporter had some swelling and some wet britches.
The arrogant little creep did try to trespass into the guy’s business in an attempt to escalate the sitution. He was obviously successful in that.
The old guy proved the Biblical maxim that it’s always better to give than to receive.

The gutless little ass-wipe thinks just because he’s holding a microphone, that it should exempt him from being punched and that it gave him a right to provoke the old Gent by following him into his place of business. The old guy did what any man would do after being provoked like that.

“Sir, you held the door for me.”

BS, the video clearly shows the young whippersnapper pulled the door out of the nice elderly gentleman’s hand.
    See how easily reporters lie?
Did he forget the video would make him out to be a liar?

I get jumpy like that when people get to close to me too.

The nice local businessman was trying not to hurt the little man-boy with a toy. You can clearly see he pulled his punch. There was no follow through and no head stomping.

Oh wait. Only the progs knock people down and kick them. I forgot.

If they were a little closer in age I’m thinking the reporter wouldn’t have been able to get up.
    That was a nice punch.
Watched it several times on slow mo.

    per Mediaite:
    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/ouch-altlanta-reporter-gets-punched-in-the-face-live-on-air/

Reporter Jeff Chirco was investigating a shady business, and was trying to interview the shady business owner’s shady business owning father by asking rude and intrusive questions and paid for his rudeness.
The guy isn’t someone I would recommend, but the reporter got what he asked for.

Quotes from “Lonesome Dove.” Fitting here.
Captain Call, after beating the piss out of bullying army scout: “Hate rudeness in a man, won’t tolerate it.”
    After Gus broke bartender’s nose:
“Anyway, whacking a surly bartender ain’t much of a crime.”

UNLESS the old man has a posted sign clearly visible at the front entry stating “no trespassing” or “by invitation only” it is a basic assumption of the law that the business IS OPEN to the public. Granted the reporter was a nuisance, no doubt about it, but would the old man punch a stranger who tried to enter his place of biddness????

Some times you have to like old school guys. My step dad had a trucking business in Ohio. Law enforcement in a neighboring county had a reputation for being more strict on trucks not home based in the county and out of county companies were more often cited for violations than in county based businesses.

This lead to a court hearing after he got tired of just paying the fines. He soon realized it was a kangaroo court. He stood up, told the judge he was corrupt and walked out. Nothing happened. Seems the judge didn’t really want what he does in his court to go outside the county to state level inspection.

@LL Even thieves have property rights in this country. That means the property owner can decide who can and can not come onto that property. Only the proper authority with a search warrant, reasonable suspicion and emergency situations override that right.

But of course property rights are a foreign concept to liberals.

There needs to be a video game for this. Punch a reporter. Punch a politician. Punch a DickTatter like UGO.

A the old guy had his hand on his shirt, and that is assault. The punch was deserved.
