That Evil Carbon is About To Change the World

Researchers at UCLA are making breakthroughs in superconductor technology, and by accident have created a supercapacitor battery. You may be asking yourself, “what is a supercapacitor battery?” and that’s a great question.

Short answer: it’s a huge leap in battery tech. Once this technology matures, it’s likely to replace batteries as we know them today. Imagine charging your phone in ten seconds, or charging an electric car in the time it takes to run into the Circle K for an ICEE and a slim-jim.

The other benefit is that they’re made of carbon, so even though Al Gore will probably want to tax them, these new batteries will be completely bio-degradable.

The video is great. It gives you hope that while a-holes are simultaneously applauding the Muslim brotherhood and Dan Savage, there are important and exciting things still happening on American campuses.

The carbon zinc batteries, they were the best. Put two in your everyready flashlight and for 15 min.you had a light as bright as 5 candles.
Now we have super bright LED lights that mount on your AR or pistol.
    What a country.

Almost lost me at the GE “Focus Forward” 0bama-esque logo.

This is pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately, it will take some time for this to get to consumer goods.

Another leap in technology courtesy of ignorant dirty dog infidels. Good news is the muslims will use these capacitor batteries to power-up detonating devices in suicide vests and IED’s

“charging an electric car in the time it takes to run into the Circle K for an ICEE and a slim-jim.”

not unless you have an industrial grade electric service – yes, the batteries can charge that fast but you have to be able to put that amount of energy into them – the average house has only a 240V 30AMP circuit to spare

So it’s an ultra cap, maybe improved capacity over existing ultra caps (hard to tell). Nothing new otherwise. But still, nice to see. Batteries still store more energy ultimately, but ultra caps can charge/discharge faster.

Consciousness continues to break through leftist barriers. They will no doubt concoct some new evil to thwart this.
