Carson: No sneak peek for Obama

THE  HILL

The White House repeatedly asked Ben Carson for his speech before the rising Republican star criticized President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast earlier this month.

Carson, a prominent neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University, declined to do so, noting that he doesn’t put his speeches down on paper beforehand.

“I told them that I don’t have an advance copy because I don’t write out my speeches and I don’t use teleprompters …they asked more than once … I gave them the [Biblical] texts around which the remarks would be framed … I said read those texts, the remarks will be framed around those … that should have told them something,” Carson said in an interview with The Hill this week.

His speech attracted a lot of media attention, most notably a “Ben Carson for president” piece from The Wall Street Journal’s editorial page. It also landed him on two recent Sunday political shows.

Many on the right championed the address, which appeared to make Obama uncomfortable and has been viewed on YouTube nearly 2.8 million times.

Liberals, including Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), criticized Carson for delivering a “political speech” during a religious event.

But the White House, which did not comment for this article, has not criticized Carson.

After Carson finished his remarks at the prayer breakfast, the usually loquacious Vice President Biden sat next to the physician but had little to say from that point on, Carson pointed out.

Carson, 61, chuckled as he recalled the lack of chitchat: “Later on, [Biden] said, ‘Nice being with you.’ ”

And Carson said the president approached him after to say “he appreciated me being there and he admired me and shook my hand.”

I’m sure the lack of chit chat on Biden’s part was because, as they say, he was convicted.

The preezy “appreciated” him being there?? Sure he did.

And Carson said the president approached him after to say “he appreciated me being there and he admired me and shook my hand.”

Hopefully, Carson didn’t return the compliment. A mere “Thanks” would have sent the narcissist’s head spinning.

B Brad-Anyone who ‘considered’ voting for Obama is highly suspect; very, very highly suspect. Seems JC was upset about the “lack of outreach” to blacks…immediately after Sarah Palin’s selection as VP. Can you say hissy fit?

I believe that God used Dr. Ben Carson as a prophet to speak the truth to Obama and the American people. And the last time I checked God doesn’t have to clear his word or get permission from man in order to speak the truth. Barry is being called out by God himself, let’s all hope he responds appropriately to the truth. After all Moses was given 7 times to deliver the truth to Pharoah and Pharoah still hardened his heart and wouldn’t listen. Perhaps God will send more prophets Obamas way and give him every chance available to listen. Lets hope so for his sake and the sake of America as well. I wouldn’t want to be Obama right now because God has his bullseye and laser pointer aimed right at him to confront him with the truth. One can hope he will listen but we don’t know and from every indication Obama will harden his heart even further. But the good news is that God still delivered Israel and I believe will deliver us from any harm intended by Obama and Barry will be forgotten except as an object lesson of God’s wrath just as Pharoah and Egypt were.

I guarantee that NO ONE will ever get to speak at any upcoming event without a written document in hand ahead of time. But then again, give them your written speech, then give the speech you REALLY want to give…without paper or a teleprompter. This country is in such hell until we ALL start praying for it.

Dr. Carson has a great sense of humor.
He suggested,”…I said read those [Biblical] texts, the remarks will be framed around those… that should have told them something,”
Obama and his minions will still have no clue what Dr. Carson’s speech is about because they don’t understand the bible. LOL!

0bama is a scoffer. He heard the message, the warning, but it didn’t come from his allah. If that bastard ever sees the light he will have to impeach himself and repent.

serfer62 — excellent point. Carson was on with He Who Shall Not Be Named tonight. He gave the good doc rapid fire questions.

    GB: 2nd Amendment?
BC: I believe we all have the right to defend ourselves.
GB: Any problem with so-called “assault weapons”?
    BC: It depends.
    GB: On what?
BC: Where you live. If you live around lots of people, I don’t think you should have a gun like that where a crazy person can get it. If you live out in the country, go for it.

Sorry, I can’t go for that answer. I have a Constitutional right to have any damn kind of gun I want no matter where I live.
