Bloomberg says coal industry is a ‘dead man walking’
DAILY CALLER

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg told an audience near Washington, D.C. today that tough regulations, environmental activism, and cheap natural gas are bringing an end to coal-fired power in the United States.
“Even though the coal industry doesn’t totally know it yet or is ready to admit it, its day is done. … Here in the U.S., I’m happy to say, the king is dead. Coal is a dead man walking,” Bloomberg said at an Energy summit.
Bloomberg added that public-health and climate change activists are ready for a long “regulatory trench war” over coal-fired power.
The Hill reports that Bloomberg Philanthropies gave a $50 million grant to Sierra Club’s anti-coal campaign aimed at shuttering one-third of the country’s coal-fired fleet by 2020.
Recently, electric utility American Electric Power agreed to stop burning coal at three plants in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky as part of a settlement with the EPA, U.S. states, and environmental groups — including the Sierra Club.
“Across the country, the coal industry faces unprecedented setbacks as its share of electricity generation plummets and the cost of coal continues to skyrocket,” said Jodi Perras, who represents the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign in Indiana.

It would be fitting if the power companies reacted the same way the firearms vendors did. Since Bloomturd doesn’t like coal powered plants, they could refuse sell electricity to N.Y. Let Solyndra and the windmills provide their electricity.

That sawed-off little tyrant is an idiot. There are more BTU’s in the form of coal beneath just Illinois than there are BTU’s in the form of oil under Saudi Arabia. Coal gasification is a simple process and would keep coal a viable and clean energy source for at least the next three hundred years. There have been at least two coal gasification projects killed in Illinois for political reasons; the first was the Energyplex coal gasification project that was killed in 1978 during halfwit Carter’s term as presidunce. The other was the Futuregen project that was killed a couple years ago. The control freaks in government (like midget Bloomberg) don’t care about the environment. All they want is more control by any means they can dream up.

LIBERTYMILITIA, Bloomberg knows that Obama is quietly being pivoted on fracking, as evidenced by his long association with John Rowe, recently retired from Exelon Energy. Lots of ChicagoWay connections there. Anyhow, Rowe is bullish on fracking, and he is working to give Obama political cover to use fracking to make up for the alternatve energy bust.
Also, Ernest Moniz, Obama’s new Energy Secretary nominee, is enthusiastic about fracking. The Envirolefties are furious, but the only people they can cry to are Lo Info Voters, who don’t really give a damn. As a sop to environmentalists, Obama will present himself as King Coal Slayer. So Bloomberg is correct: Coal is screwed.

Hey New Yorkers
You have to admit that it’s a real toss-up whether your diminutive Napoleonic-complected Jew or our diminutive Napoleonic-complected Jew is more obnoxious.
It’s a real men’s size six foot-race.

Over half our country’s electric power comes from coal. The progtard assholes want to destroy the coal industry. They’ve got nothing real to replace it with. Therefore, the progtards are destroying our country’s electrical grid. The good thing is that we won’t need electricity to drag them out of their offices and hang them when they’ve finally destroyed this country.
