@Trees — That’s one the first things I noticed. Every one of them are geared up in the latest fashions, the girls all have expensive nail jobs. These kids aren’t “poor” by any stretch.
I’m glad I saw the story about the 18 year-old whose mom died, who left school to take care of his siblings and was walking 10 miles to interview for a minimum wage job. That guy was so excited about getting a job he was speechless. He couldn’t even scrape together enough money to take a bus! So he walked!
The people in the video are a direct result of being given a pass their entire lives. They may have little formal education, but they each have a Ph.D. in how to work the welfare system and that’s all they need to know, they figure. I don’t feel sorry for them at all. I’m sick of it.

I think the best thing we could do for these people is to take them aside in the 9th grade and tell them that their fellow Americans will be only too glad to support them for the rest of their lives but only if they NEVER take any kind of job or try to rise above the lifestyle that can be achieved on Section 8 and food stamps. I lived in a boy’s home in L.A. along with former members of the crips, bloods, 18th street, Hazzard, Piru, Whitefence, and a few other gangs. Half of them turned out to be okay. The deal was that anybody who didn’t go to school and maintain a “C” or better average had to either get a job or go back to Juvenile hall. And with that incentive most were successful. Many of them stayed on as staff after they turned 18, and went to college. I’m talking about major changes in behavior.
But there were no progs monkeying with the system, it was a “my way or the highway” operation.
You have to separate them from the rest of the pack. I’ve seen it work.
