What’s Beck Saying Now?

Home - by - February 19, 2013 - 21:45 America/New_York - 13 Comments

Actually, I’m being a jerk. Beck didn’t mean to say this. He was talking about Republicans but got a little turned around. Right, Dr. Freud?

Here’s the entire video -

Is it just me, or is Beck looking a little like Henry Kissinger?

(And, no, I’m not trying to be nasty.)

Beck and Ted Baxter. Man that is almost too much to take. Even in a 3 minute clip. Someone explain to me why O’Reilly’s show is #1. I just don’t get it.

Diann, I think O’Reily is there out of force of habit for a lot of people. I got hooked early on when he was hammering Clinton. I kept up with him through the early ’00s. Around ’07, I had pretty much had it with him. I kept tuning in semi-regularly until it became crystal clear that his driving motivation was self-aggrandizement (interview with preezy, anyone?).

I liked how he went after predators and pedos, but that’s about the limit of my respect anymore. His demographic doesn’t care to go anywhere else at that hour. They can still afford cable, and weeding through the chaff on the net is pretty tiresome.

I don’t get it either Diann

O’reily says so much stuff that’s either crazy or communistic at times. He blamed “speculators” for the rise on gas prices a while back while ignoring numerous other factors. He advocated federal registration of all firearms on letterman. Yet he has a tremendous following and seems to be quite intolerant about criticism. Michael Savage calls him “the leprechaun” and that pisses O’rielly off to no end. Being part Irish myself, I’ve been called much worse and someone calling me a leprechaun wouldn’t bother me.

Talk show hosting requires a bit of self promotion to be successful but you can’t get too caught up in your own bull.

Beck seems to be seeking attention by saying ridiculous things that aren’t rooted in reality. People will tire of that crap, especially if someone keeps track of the bull over the years.

I like what he’s trying to do with The Blaze and I hope the network is successful. It seems to be a seperate entity from Glenn Beck and I think that’s a good thing.

Actually, I liked what Beck had to say.

How many people here have said the same thing – the elite Republicans have become irrelevant?

I’m with Beck on Christie. If he gets the nod in 16, we are just asking for a re-enactment of McLame.

Subjectivity never ceases to amaze. Love him or hate him, I think Beck has a nasty tendency of being correct. The left seeking to unite with the Islamic radicals to establish a Caliphate, for example.

I don’t worship the man and don’t even subscribe, yet I am as amazed at his ability to attract criticism from all sides in a manner not unlike Palin.

O’Reilly is a populist, plain and simple. We could say more, but it’d only be extra gravy.

I find it mildly amusing that I detest the GOP for many of the same reasons folks on the left do.

    1. Old and outdated

    2. Deaf

    3. Unwilling to adapt

But one thing I don’t agree with the left about the GOP? It is in no way conservative.

I don’t get O’Reilly either. I have a friend who watches him (and Hannity) every. single. night. He is an otherwise smart guy but computer-phobic. I keep telling him his education is sorely lacking but I have yet to get through. I try to send him articles I find from other sources. It’s too bad because he a right-thinking person otherwise.

Blah blah blah blah blah. Like so many other “leaders” and conservative pundits Beck doesn’t want to really rock the boat (hint hint–civil disobedience and tax revolution) because he is wealthy and doesn’t want the hardship of a capsized ship.

O’Reilly is for gun registration which will lead to gun confiscation so the heck with O’Reilly.

As Beck said the GOP has made themselves into a party that is only interested in getting themselves re-elected, they are so intent on this that they are willing to let the country go down the drain while they are getting re-elected.

It is way past time for the GOP to make a real stand against the democrats. And if they don’t they will find their time is over just like the Whigs did.
