Up or Down?

Whatever their opinion on the Second Amendment, many Americans from all political persuasions believe that the idea of renewing the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 deserves an UP OR DOWN VOTE on the floor of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate.
Do you agree? If so, please sign the petition calling on congress to give the American people an UP OR DOWN VOTE on renewing the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.

If they don’t like the 2nd, start the process to repeal it.
Otherwise, STFU!

Why give them a chance to win a “yes” vote?

Déjà vu.
We’ve been down that road before, as long as the US continues to elect anti-constitutionalists we’ll revisit this issue in perpetuity.
What about the debt, economy, social security, obamacare, strong military, school choice, corruption, waste, fraud, etc., etc.??? You know issues that could actually make a difference in this nation.

Since very few “Representatives” actually represent the views of the majority of people they “represent”, why in the world would I give them the chance to do this?
They were all sworn to uphold the Constitution, since so few of them do, allowing them to think that their “votes” give them the power to further break their promise and move closer to tyranny is in and of itself reprehensible.

Not particularly in favor of this, but I don’t think Reid will allow it in the Senate as he knows a lot of Dems would vote no. It would hurt the Dems far more than the GOP, and it won’t pass.

Absolutely not! Just like Tim said, if they want to grab guns they need to amend the Constitution. Any law Congress creates prohibiting weapons is unconstitutional (that includes the ones already on the books).

The idea opens up yet another “opportunity” for the Dems to call for a *compromise*…
…y’know…like only raping gun owners half-way.

I don’t do FB, I don’t Twit, and I don’t do online petitions.
You all know how I feel about gun control.
Gun control is hitting your target.

Anti-gun votes result in death at the polling places. Let the Democrats in red states (hell, even blue states for that matter) put their anti-gun money where their pie-holes are.
If you want to vote to re-institute the 1994 Gun Ban, do it! See where it gets you, Dims! Go ahead, I dare you!

Gun control is designing and building a 7.62 bolt that survives more than 1000 rounds.

Lot easier than them actually working on the budget. Or the deficit. Might be some good sound bites innit’ for the narcissistic bastards.

Such a violation of the Constitution deserves no floor vote, no recognition, no discussion. It belongs in the garbage, and I don’t mean congress.
Take care of the current financial problems and budgeting first, and quit wasting our time and money.

The assault weapons postponement of billy jeff was unconstitutional when voted on.
My copy of our Constitution doesn’t say anything about citizens not having the GOD given right to horde, shoot, or employ large caliber, high capacity magazine equipped, firearms made anywhere on GOD’s green earth.
I personally don’t care whether they renew it or not. I only care about who is voting and what their vote is.

The idiots should be held in violation of the constitutional oath they took for even voting on any gun bill.
They should try to do their gun grab via a constitutional amendment.
I’m getting very, very p**sed at all this bovine excrement. This is nothing more than a diversion from the real issues, a form of conditioning of the masses for a near future gun grab, And a form of wearing down the patriots.

Rights are not subject to votes….EVER.
The Second Amendment is a written codification
of a right that exists regardless of the words
on parchment. Because I am a living sentient human I have the right to defend myself…be that from attack by a criminal or from enslavement by power mad tyrants. This means that I have the right to own any and all weapons I deem suitable for that purpose. To even discuss the idea of a vote on the issue lends illegitimate credibility to the idea that a politician has any right whatsoever to interfere with or legislate about that inherent right I have and will always have….and am willing to kill those politicians to defend.

Lemme try to say what Dan did in other words:
We still have the right to bear arms even if they repeal the 2A.
It’d just time to use them then.
