Washington State Proposed Gun Law Calls on Sheriff to Inspect Homes of Assault-Weapon Owners

GATEWAY PUNDIT

A new gun law calls on sheriffs to search the home of assault weapon owners.

A proposed Washington State gun law will call on the county sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners.
Seattle Times reported, via Free Republic:

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”

The heat under the pot that’s been boiling the frog for the past 60 years has been turned to high. Hopefully the frog has enough life left to jump out of the pot.

“The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.”

Really, and if somebody didn’t actually read the bill, (and then QUESTIONED IT !!!!!), would of it still been a “mistake”?

Washington is obviously a shit hole.

Our Sheriff, the other day, said “If someone breaks into your home – shoot them – we will respond, but we may be 20 minutes away.”

    God Bless Him.

They had to pass the Bill to find out what was in it.
Forfu*ksake man how else you expect them to know what was in it?
Didn’t we learn that from obamacare? That’s the new normal. Pass it then let’s see whatthefu*k is in it! New York did it and turned all policemen into criminals overnight.

Was the “mistake” putting it in the bill, or actually being scummy enough to even think it in the first place?

Liberals are fascist scum. It’s only a “mistake” when they openly display it.

I say pass the bill with that provision in it. Let’s see if the ACLU says anything. When they don’t, hammer their ass mercilessly about how they really don’t stand for American civil liberties.

And if you think no one will sue, there are many right-wing (read: intelligent) groups that will take up this cause.

Question: How long will it take and how many dead deputies will it take before something clicks in the sheriff’s head and he holds a press conference and says that he is not enforcing this unconstitutional law because he can’t afford to get ANY deputies killed because he has legitimate law enforcement duties to perform?

Besides, no sheriff or police chief will last 5 seconds when he has to look in the watery eyes of the 3 year old daughter of one of his dead deputies when she asks, “Why isn’t my daddy coming home?” It’s because he knows that she won’t understand how socialism just uses people and then throws them away. But he will.

Yep that’s my home state at work for me. We have been run by dems for so long that nothing that they try to do surprises me any more. This was only a eight page bill but many never bothered to read the whole thing, even Adam Kline (D) one of the bills sponsors said, “I frankly should have vetted this more closely” All they saw was a bill that said gun control, lets vote. Ed Murry (D) the prime sponsor had this to say, “I have to admit that shouldn’t be in there” he went on to say “this is a general statement, as a guiding light of where we need to go”. Every one in a blue state needs to watch any gun bills that are coming down the pike this is the end game for them no guns for anyone. The penalty for not letting them in your home, 1 year in jail. One more from Lance Palmer (D) a real gem, “But now I understand why my right wing opponents worry about having to fight a government takeover”.
And they wonder why we don’t trust them and will fight them to the bitter end.

Several “unforseen Consequences” are really right in sight!
    1) Not enough manpower
    2) Deadlie for cops then a family dispite, real deadly
    3) The abilty to find a concealed pistol will negate any search
    4) A slight reduction of Kommiecrats oh of maybe 40%.

Game Wardens can search your car, home, whatever they want — without a warrant any time they have a suspicion. They can empty your freezer looking for poached game. They have more power than other law enforcement agencies when it comes to violating your right to privacy.
And they Will search for and confiscate ALL the firearms of anyone they deem to be in violation.

Nazi Germany used local law enforcement, known citizens of the community, to carry out their agenda as much as possible. That way people were less likely to retaliate. I asked a local sheriff’s deputy, an anti-Obama conservative, if he would confiscate guns if ordered, and even he said he would do it because “that’s his job”. We’re in danger people.

Well, I screwed that up – the comment and the edit.

    Let me get this straight.

    1. WA already has a registry of “assault weapons”?
    2. WA has a “legal” written definition of “assault
    weapons” on the books?

If the answer to either or both those questions is “Yes”, the new bill really makes no difference. WA is already as burned toast as NY and so are its residents who must at one time have imagined that they are/were citizens.
