A funeral was held this morning for a New York woman who died after having an abortion at 33 weeks of pregnancy at a late-term abortion clinic in Germantown, Maryland.

Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, a 29-year-old woman from New Rochelle, New York died from a botched 33-week abortion last week.

Following a new probe started by local officials, the Maryland Attorney General has opened an investigation into the late-term abortion practitioner who killed a Morbelli. The Maryland Attorney General’s office is not specifically looking into Morbelli’s death but it is looking at illegal dumping by the abortion clinic that could result in fines or other form of punishment.

The web site Viral Read has more details on the funeral service.

service was held this morning at New York’s Holy Name of Jesus Church for 29 year-old Kindergarten teacher Jennifer McKenna Morbelli. ViralRead was on the scene.

In a humble eulogy, Morbelli’s sister Kristin remembered how wonderful her sister was; how she always was ‘sticking up for her’ in ways no one else would. ViralRead’s New York City based correspondent reported that in the view of her family, Morbelli had accomplished more in 29 years than most do in a lifetime. In her mother’s stead, Kristin read a letter from her mother and father to Morbelli, a feat incomprehensible to anyone who has never laid a loved one to rest. Roughly 150 mourners were present for the services.

The priest who presided over the services delivered a consoling homily in which he remembered his favorite childhood nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty. He stated that much like Humpty Dumpty, God will put both Jennifer and her unborn child, Madison Leigh, back together again.

Operation Rescue’s senior policy adviser Cheryl Sullenger says a lawsuit is possible.

“We’re hoping the hospital will make a complaint to the Maryland Medical Board,”she said of the medical clinic where Morbelli died after the botched abortion forced her transportation there. “If it looks like they’re not acting, we will consider acting ourselves.”

Her choice got her killed. The real Catholic church would not be holding a funeral mass for an infant murderer.

Okay. Maybe I’m missing something or I’m just an insensitive lout.
“He stated that much like Humpty Dumpty, God will put both Jennifer and her unborn child, Madison Leigh, back together again.”
She would be ALIVE along with her “unborn child” (formerly known as unviable tissue mass/tumor) IF SHE HAD NOT GONE FOR THE ABORTION IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE!!!
    What the hell, people!
Also, this is at a Catholic Parish!!
The smell of hypocrasy is overwhelming!
Woman decides to get a late term abortion. Then dies during said LTA. The only one I feel any sympathy for is Madison Leigh who evidently wasn’t even an unborn baby until this woman died.
Had the abortion been successful how joyful would that reunion have been in the after life? Explain that one Fr.

Fire away?? Depression in the last 8 weeks of pregnancy occurs in 1 in 5 pregnant women, a slightly higher rate than that of postpartum depression. The combined hormone mess and and sometimes extreme stress and fear of the fact you will soon have a baby can be overwhelming.

The real crime here is that a doctor went for a 33 week abortion most likely without a psychological review. Who knows what state of mind she was in. She went 33 weeks, so I hardly think this was a casual decision for retroactive birth control. Thanks heavens the Catholic Priest of her Parish has a greater understanding than you.

I’m sorry, but 33 friggin’ weeks? Even regardless of where you stand on the abortion issue, if you can’t make this life altering decision in a week you ought to have your tubes tied anyway.

So, Ms. Morbelli has no culpability in this whatsoever? It’s all the Drs fault?
As for the priest, he needs to review the teachings of the church he represents.

How can ANYONE even consider the possibility of killing a baby at 33 weeks? All 3 of my kids were born at either 37 or 38 weeks. I know there are lots and lots of babies born much earlier than that. I can’t fathom how any rational, non-demon-posessed human being can begin to justify calling a 33wk old gestating baby- a fetus, and being ok with “aborting” it. Abortion is not even remotely a proper term for that. A baby that close to its birthday could not possibly be “aborted”. She (the baby) was ready to make her way through the birth canal. To “abort” that would imply to “abort” the passage through the canal. As in, to abort a shuttle liftoff. And that would mean the baby would just postpone her trip til a later date (which could only be delayed so long before nature would take over and she would make the trip whether they wanted her to or not). The whole thing just defies logic. How the hell could that girl be a Kindergarten teacher and look at those tiny faces everyday, and even consider killing the one she has in her womb? That just breaks my heart… and nearly breaks my anger management. It makes me want to do mean and painful things to so-called “people” like that so-called “Dr.”, as well as sumbitches who support his demonic abominations!!!

How could the hospital (Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville MD) not possibly report this incompetent man to the medical board! He is clearly culpable for this young womans death! Not to mention the innocent child! Plus this innocent the first time this “doctor” has killed a patient! Enough!

Dude et al, Absolutely not. I am pro-life and a practicing Catholic. The abortion should not have been available to her especially at 33 weeks regardless of your stand on abortion however what I am is saying as having been a pregnant woman several times, you go through a lot. Something happened in this woman’s life to make her resort to this not unlike a suicide in my mind (also not approved under Catholic Doctrine).

What I am saying is do not think an attack on this girl is appropriate where the article does not and also does not address much else by way of background. Also condemning her to hell is not my job and she may have received last rights, been repentant and been absolved of her sin.

Again I say the real crime is you need evaluation before all sorts of life altering procedures and doctor’s note in school before you can get an aspirin, but again I guess there was probably nothing required before this doctor decided to perform an abortion. She asked and the government accommodated.

“Mommy, why did Ms. Jennifer die? What happened to her baby? What’s an uhborshun?…OH!!! Mommy? You aren’t gonna give me a borshun?…are you?”

I bet more than a couple of those kids will have nightmares and be permanently scarred by this!

I’m sorry, but at 33 weeks, it’s not an abortion, it’s infanticide.

And Christy, I’m sorry, but one of the reasons I no longer am a practicing Catholic is that this is not the same Church that I received my First Holy Communion or was Confirmed in.

Mafiosi have been denied a Mass of Christian Burial for perceived murders; this woman committed a mortal sin and should have been denied it as well.

There’s a lot missing from this story. Why does someone carry a baby nearly to term only to abort her? The baby was named — presumably by the “mother,” so must have been wanted at some point.

How do you go 33 weeks while teaching kindergarten day in and day out, getting more pregnant and then disappear, hoping to return unpregnant but with no baby? Did she and her family not wonder about the speculation this would cause? Abortions are done in NY. Why go to Germantown, MD? To keep it secret? As if.

That was not an attack Christy.

I did not call her a murdering whore, just a murderer – that’s called “fact based assignment”.

It is definitely my place to judge actions, as I do on a daily basis. When I go to lunch, I judge the establishment to see if it merits me spending my money there.

When I interact with people at work, I make instant determinations not based on prejudice, but on how they present themselves and conduct their business. (That’s a threshold I use for customers and fellow employees)

I do not buy into the “everyone wins” model or the victimhood game to excuse reprehensible behavior or enable weak minded people into deplorable acts. If you murder an unborn baby there is no fucking excuse. You own it

My beef with the “new” Catholic church is well known and I make a strong case for my beliefs. Celebrating a mass for a baby murderer should not ever happen.

Fire Away was bait, and I caught one.

I’ll stand with Christy on this one. I mean Jennifer had even given her daughter a name, it seems to me (given what information I have available) that she wasn’t planning on aborting at the outset, otherwise why wait until 33 weeks? What must they have told this woman at that clinic that turned her around so completely? They saw an easy mark and took advantage of this woman when she was vulnerable (as per Christy’s remarks). I guess Dr. Death must have had a Bently payment to make. If there’s anything we need to know from this it’s what they said to this woman to turn her from her plans and beliefs. This is like cultist indoctrination and it needs to be brought to light.

They don’t say, but if her own life was at risk, she could have had a C-section and received proper, life-saving medical help. She’d be alive today with a healthy baby, presumably.

Per your responses, I did review it further and add only the following comments.

Mortal sins— Under Catholic doctrine due exist and are sins which kill the spiritual life of the soul and deprive a person of salvation, unless he repents. If she did repent and I want to believe she had great sorrow, she can have a Catholic Burial. Her priest and her God shall judge not me.

Her baby was diagnosed with a genetic defect. As a catholic under no circumstances do I believe that is justification for abortion. As a catholic I hope my decision would be to trust in God and not even abort should my life be in danger. She made the wrong choice in my opinion. Her parents husband and family were with her for the procedure this was a wanted pregnancy but people, evil people somehow made her doubt her faith. That is the world in which we live.

We have dear friends who were told at 28 weeks their daughter would be born with a terrible genetic defect which would cause great pain and suffering and require consent surgeries and medical attention to maybe prolong the suffering to an age of one year with no chance of survival past that time. They are not particularly religious but she chose to trust in God and deal with what would come. It was 12 weeks of hell in what should have been a joyous time in their lives. 4 experts opinion review and the child’s only “birth defect” is that she was on the short side and will have to suffer with that her whole life. Miracle? It was the only explanation the doctors’s put forward after a tremendous amount of tests to find something devastatingly wrong, but it was likely only man’s hubris aided by the evil that surrounds us.

The mother made a terrible mistake no doubt, so judge her as you have, but I have seen from the inside how those who are there to help us can actually harm our soul, faith and spirit and I can only hope that God would have granted me my friend’s faith and strength and I would not have fallen as this mother did.

This whole thing is so sad that I didn’t read the piece. I just wonder whether whatever they found “wrong” with the fetus was/could’ve been detected sooner than 33 weeks?

Catholic Adoption Agencies would have gladly welcomed the ‘genetic defect’ and given it love and care. (Obama is quickly dismantling CAA)

Catholics are wise to beware of false teaching and bad catechesis from liberal or weak bishops, priests and religious. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is online and easily searchable and makes no defense for abortion. Period.

As to the humpty-dumpty priest, “God will put all the pieces back together “seems a little crude doesn’t it?

The pressure to terminate is so much more intense than you know. Medical professionals who even suspect a fetal anomaly will recommend abortion – no other options or resources. It can be difficult to find a doctor who will respect a decision to bring such a child to term! This family made a terrible, wrong decision, but having experienced the coercive arguments myself, I can see how they may have been led to believe that this was the better option. At root is the failure to accept the handicapped and developmentally disabled, the very least of our brethren. I think that is a larger issue than many are willing to admit.

I just can’t get this tragedy out of my mind.
What the heck would send Jennifer Morbelli over the edge like that? I keep thinking that someone must have frightened her terribly. What did her own obstetrician tell her?
I have heard of obstetricians refusing to deliver the babies of women that refused prenatal testing. Doctors don’t want law suits. Did her own doctor refuse to deliver because the poor baby had a problem? I know there is much pressure to kill pre born babies with defects.
Also, her family was with her? Did they only want a perfect grandchild?
This does not bode well for any of us with Obamacare on its way.
    Was she having a breakdown?

Who knows what these doctors told her (and no, that doesn’t excuse her from choosing abortion). Hopefully she made her peace with God and begged forgiveness before dying. I think the problem is with (probably very liberal) doctors who THINK they are gods. And the abortionists…wow! Those are truly the sick bastards. Perhaps we can use this sad case to our advantage?

What kind of impairments did the baby have that weren’t caught much earlier? Anyone get a 2nd opinion?
