Rep. Corrine Brown: ‘Don’t Confuse Me With Any Facts’

Home - by - February 13, 2013 - 09:30 America/New_York - 20 Comments

(CNSNews.com) – As part of a discussion with voters about Obamacare funding, Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.) told one man, “Don’t confuse me with any facts.”

“This is part of the problem,” Brown told an audience member who had asked about the billions of dollars cut from Medicare under the Affordable Health Care Act.

“In this time period it’s just like — don’t confuse me with any facts. I was at a town hall meeting with AARP, and they talked about the pros and cons and explained everything. So I would suggest that you go and read what they have to say about it, because what you’re saying is not true.”

“What do you mean it’s not true?” the audience member at the September event at Jacksonville University can be heard saying.

“Let me finish explaining,” Brown continued, “Okay, look what you’re talking about, we didn’t take money from Medicaid to put…”

“Medicare,” the audience member interrupts.

“Medicare or Medicaid to put into the Affordable Health Care, that’s the first thing,” Brown said.

Last July, the Congressional Budget Office reported that the Affordable Care Act would cut Medicare by more than $700 billion in the coming decade by reducing reimbursement rates to those who provide services to Medicare patients.

The answer to how many inches in a yard would constitute a fact, so let’s not go there and confuse her any more than necessary..mmkay?

I started to write something about 5 times, stopped each time and erased what I had written. Every time I tried to wrap my mind around … don’t confuse me with any facts… the pain wouldn’t go away until I deleted what I wrote.

I’m pretty sure my IQ just dropped 50 points after reading what Brown said. I’m off to Sarah Palin’s website to restore the IQ and hopefully add a little more.

    @ Czar & Tar [-
Here’s who voted for that “root beer float”:

    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/FL/5

Notice her newly redrawn district includes the black sections of Jacksonville, Gainesville, Orlando and Sanford(Trayvon?), Florida. Say what you want but, while our legislature screwed Allen West, they managed to lump most of the blacks in north Florida into one district with one idiot rep.

well…from now on all congress needs to do is vote on bills with great sounding names, but are blank inside, no language whatsoever.

then once enacted, nothing has to happen. no department needs to be created. no one hired to oversee vast amounts of money because the bill will not be budgeted for.

but we can all feel good about the bill that just passed. politiicians can campaign on them.

we can get the same results or better even than we get now but it won’t cost us anything and we can still all feel really good about ourselves for supporting such a great bill.

we can use names such as the affordable healthcare act…
    or the
    community reinvestment act..
    or
    trouble asset relief program..

One of Neal Boortz’s favorites targets when he was on the air. Every time he would break into his impression of her screeching on the floor of the House in some speech ‘I want to gragulate’ so and so, you had to just laugh. Too lazy or stupid to fully pronounce ‘congratulate’. She deserves to be mocked and ridiculed.

Oh, come on–the Democrats say enough idiotic things that we don’t need to start taking their statements out of context.

It seems to me that Rep. Brown was offering a characteriization of the people at town hall meetings rather than saying that she didn’t want to hear facts–read the quote.
