Williams: Where’s The Outrage Over Obama’s Drone Policy?

magine if President George W. Bush or senior members of his administration asserted that they had the power to assassinate any person, including American citizens on American soil, because they merely suspected them of being involved in a terrorist plot.
Now, imagine that they went a step further and claimed that this broad new power was not subject to any oversight by Congress or the judiciary or international law.
A lot of left-wingers would be apoplectic. And they would be right.
Sadly, a Democratic president, Barack Obama, and senior national security officials in his administration appear to be wielding just that kind of power without any oversight, according to a memorandum outlining the extent of the U.S. drone program uncovered by NBC News Investigative Reporter Michael Isikoff.
Yet, the absence of national outrage is deafening.

You are probably right, but it is interesting to wonder just why they are doing this. What would be the advantage to them of covering their asses? They haven’t shown much regard for opposing positions up to now. Is there something special about these two particular issues?

I’m sorry, but I’m not outraged about the US killing people who are our enemies in a war. That isn’t what is outrageous about Obama’s drone policy. What is outrageous is, Obama made such a great big, hairy stink about “not our values” regarding Gitmo and waterboarding. He freaking campaigned on it. It is outrageous because Obama is a f*cking hypocrite and, the left, for that matter are not outraged because they are hypocrites too.

The PEW poll came out and said 26% of those polled express mixed reactions to being targeted for killing based on some beaurecrat’s thinking….and thats what the libs advertize….what about the 74% not mentioned? What are the odds that this is another one of The Obama’s (Obama the KGB Operation to imploode the US, not Obama the lying p.o.s. man-child) diversionary tactics that they seem to be fond of using lately, like the whole Susan Rice nomination or the Sandra Flucks sideshow?

I like Juan – he seems to be a really nice man for a Lefty, and sometimes he “gets” it. But most of the time, not so much.
Of all the prominent Libs in the media, he strikes me as having the best chance of eventually connecting ALL the dots, if he wasn’t so completely blind to the big black ones.
In a recent gun debate on Hannity, Williams was defending his choice NOT to protect his home and family. Being one of those people who are petrified by guns, he’d call 911 and huddle in fear til the cops came.
By the end of the discussion I think he realized what a dangerous position he would put his family in by not taking the responsibility for his own self-defense.
