Claudia:
What a beautiful tribute to Ivan! Thanks for sharing those pictures. Right now, my 14 year old Arlo is sitting my desk just to the left of my keyboard. He likes to be right next to me at all times. Silly cats!

Claudia, Great pictures of Ivan! Our Jax does the same over-the-shoulder thing; usually when I’m trying to cook dinner(!) Just like a kid who wants some random loving. So wonderful that you have these memorable pics of him.

Claudia, I love the picture of Ivan on your shoulder and laughed at the thought of him drooling down your back.
Shiny, let's go be bad guys

Thanks Claudia for posting, the kids are delighted to see their pets posted here.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I understand the feeling you get when you lose a pet, especially when it’s a pet you can interact with. Had ferrets for the better part of 20 years and it’s real tough on the family when one of them succumbs to illness.

I think Ivan was related to my old orange cat Chester.
But then again, all cats are related.*Wink wink*

Great collection this morning, Claudia. The Ferret/Hare adoption story is amazing. Proof that in the “kill or be killed” way in the animal world, compassion for others canstill be found. I hope you heart is not as heavy today.

Yes, great collection. Ah, Claudia, thank you for introducing us to Ivan the Adorable. I recently lost a cuddle junkie, too, and it feels as if I’ve lost a part of my body since she’s not there anymore. Jack, love the ferrets! It does seem that animals have mercy toward the helpless of other species (Google “tiger and baby monkey” and “lion and baby deer”). Bill, is the mantis a pet? Can we hear more about it? Loved the sweet dogs and the backyard scene. Thanks to all for a break from the never-ending gusher of tales of human stupidity.
BTW, if you need an excuse to share cute animal pictures, cite this study that says we increase our productivity by doing so: http://tinyurl.com/cz8agvu (Washington Post article).

Oh Claudia! How good it is to see the photos of Ivan. I love his little pink paw pads and he looks sooooo contented on your shoulder. I’m so glad you have Zoe to help get you through this tough time.
To everybody else – great photos! It’s fun to see the pets behind the avatars!
Jack Daniels – I am especially intrigued by your ferrets as I know very little about them. They seem like cool little critters.
Happy Sunday Everyone!

Thanks Aunt Liz,
Yeah, I love these animals. They are extremely intelligent, clean and they never lose their playful nature, probably due the fact they tend to sleep so much, so they have an abundance of energy when they wake up.
P.S. thanks for the compliment on my kids…yeah I am fortunate to have six awesome kids. Sloan, the only one not seen, took the pictures.
@Shminky, Yeah it was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. I have never had a ferret this docile, especially to another animal they would consider food!

Ferrets are cool critters. I had one try to drag my sock behind the TV stand. Problem with that is my foot was still in it.

MY SON’S CAT LIKED TO WRAP HERSELF AROUND HIS NECK… ESPECIALLY WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO SHAVE. This cat adored him but hated me and son’s sister in law. (Even attacked me when I was trying to feed her once and another time when I was trying to clean the litter box)

You are most welcome Jack! SIX kids! I am impressed – and so happy to know they are being raised by a good Christian conservative man.

Ivan looks like our Tiger, who is also too big to lapsit. Seventeen pounds is overdoing it.
RIP, Ivan. You brought joy.

Thank you for more pictures of your Ivan, @claudia. I especially like the sideways glance.
@Troy–your Roxy is already famous from your avatar!

Claudia!
Thank you thank you thank you!
I feel very honored to be in a post with your beloved Ivan.
I think Roxy would have gotten along with Ivan if he didn’t mind her eating his food. She won’t eat hard dog food but will eat hard cat food.
I had a long day working and logged in late.
What a pleasant suprise to see Roxy posted at iowntheworld! (Besides my avatar Mary).

PS, try and convince those hardened hearts like Fur to make your animal posts “sticky” on Sunday.
For crying out loud, we need it after looking at Obama’s droning mug all week! (Not to mention Moochelle!)
I say we take a vote, count me in!

Jack, Thanks for the ferret post.
I had ferrets when I was younger.
Farrah, female albino and Huey, male sable.
They were wonderful.
They had a bunch of babies, looked like long erasers.
They seemed to take forever to open their eyes.
We used to cook up a big skillet of scrambled eggs.
The babies would go batshit crazy devouring the eggs like a pack of wild dogs.

Thought of Claudia when I saw this pack of dogs mauling a cat.

Awww, Dadof3, that was great. I don’t think that kitty really minded too much!

Claudia, Thanks for sharing more pics of Ivan.
J.D. The ferrets look cool, but they really keep you on your toes.
Great pictures, everybody!
Now, why do have an urge to get a Hedgehog?
