You’ve all probably heard already that the #myjihad parody ads have finally gotten the go ahead after much legal wrangling. I stay mum on the subject until well after the dust settles, fearful that something I say could derail Pamela’s great important work.
Some things I will say now. CAIR thinks they are immune from parody even after they copied the exact look of our “Support Israel” ads -
I’m not showing their ad, or even linking it. But it was the exact colors, layout, font, etc. with the words changed. When AFDI did the same, and parodied these ridiculous propaganda posters that whitewash the meaning of jihad
the Muslims cried foul.
This is the first piece they objected to:
In a fit of hypocritical rage they objected to the colors, layout, font. etc.
I’m not going to detail every single objection raised during this long process, let’s just say there were lots.
It was a series of nitpicks that was meant to intimidate, but in the end the image at the top of the post is going to run.
But I’m not finished with my rant. Oh no, not by a long shot. CAIR was simply doing what I would expect them to do. It is our government that turns my stomach. Look at the disclaimer that we are forced to run in the gray bar below the art. No such disclaimers appear on the original CAIR ad. They don’t even appear on some of the overtly anti-Israel ads that CAIR produces.
As Obama said, he’s going to stand with the Muslims. And so are his leftist lackeys embedded in the municipal transit authorities around this country. It is so blatant and transparent it saps the soul. We are treated like Neanderthals and apes during these processes. It’s not even veiled. They say straight out that they think these counter jihad ads are despicable, and that we are despicable.
It is much, much worse than you think out there, people.
