A new analysis suggests that a more ‘European’ schedule would reduce the effects of climate change

Want to reduce the effects of global warming? Stop working so hard. Working fewer hours might help slow global warming, according to a new study released Monday by the Center for Economic Policy and Research.

A worldwide switch to a “more European” work schedule, which includes working fewer hours and more vacation time, could prevent as much as half of the expected global temperature rise by 2100, according to the analysis, which used a 2012 study that found shorter work hours could be associated with lower carbon emissions.

The Center for Economic Policy and Research is a liberal think tank based in Washington.

“The relationship between [shorter work and lower emissions] is complex and clearly understood, but it is understandable that lowering levels of consumption, holding everything else constant, would reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” writes economist David Rosnick, author of the study. Rosnick says some of that reduction can be attributed to fewer operating hours in factories and other workplaces that consume high levels of energy.

It can also be slowed by printing fewer welfare checks, hence the EBT card.

That only works if the President is a Democrat.

Just another example of the fellating media finding heretofore nonexistent upsides to Leftist malfeasance.

This is as bad as the positive spin they were trying to put on being out of work (aka “funemployment”) in 2010.

Thanks to Obama, I am doing my part. I burned zero gas in my big boat this year because that is a big expense, and I have had to cut way back. The progs are happy as can be to see that happen.

and why in the hell is a colder planet a good thing anyway?

Alright, lets start with a 25% reduction in federal government employees. That should lower the tempurature at least 10-15 degrees.

Remember this example of the MSM sucking lemons and spitting out lemonade for Barry?

“Where in 2008, each Obama rally was a collective, ecstatic experience for thousands of supporters frustrated by the Bush years, Obama 2012 is a more disciplined media-centric operation — finely honed to attract just the crowd needed to provide the perfect backdrop for the evening news and the morning papers.

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod credited the “intimacy” of the events for the president’s ability to speak off the cuff — often reacting to the audience.

“The intimacy of this, the value of that, is that it is kind of a setting that he can do what he’s done — which is…have a nice talk about what this is all about and to do it in a very personal way,” he said after Obama’s remarks, noting that the local news coverage was the real winner for the campaign. “It was set up that way, and I feel its been really good.”

The smaller crowds also lessen the chances of hecklers or Romney operatives will sneak into the event, as they have in the past by obtaining general admission tickets.”

And look, they even got in a little dig at Mitt. With media like this, he never had a chance.

Other ways to reduce Global Weather: return to a 7th century lifestyle, destroy tall buildings, reduce world population through war, keep half the population from working, attending school or driving, keep gas prices high by refusing to drill in America. Hmmm… What we need is a Muslim president!

I’ll be glad to work the extra hrs. not worked by all the slackers trying to save the planet. Good luck with that. And who do they expect to feed them when they don’t work? I know the answer is the gubmint but Geez Louise gimme a break and leave me alone to work as much as I want. I can feed myself (without the gubmints help) and others but can you losers do it and not whine that everything is unfair! Get a clue life is unfair and get over being lazy and blaming your misery and the planets misery on others hard work.

Remember she said that unemployment benefits stimulate the economy.

FTA: “There’s a lot of controversy—should the developing world follow an American or European model?,” he says.”

    Gee…that’s a tough one.
And if we all lived in caves, nobody would have to work.
