We’ve Struck Gold!

I’d like to advance a few items and readers that I found extraordinary in the comment section of a few posts that ran today. See, this is one of the reasons this blog is so successful – the readers are just as (and sometimes more) intelligent, knowledgeable, astute and hilarious as the contributors. You are the BEST.

The first one was found on “Pierced Organ fails again – Gun Girls win!”, posted by Mr. Pinko. The comment was from Billy Fuster:

“Well Pierce, you pompous ignoramus, since the liberal mindset creates more criminals via abdicating responsibility AND liberal policies allow hardened criminals to get out of jail, we conservatives are correcting your mistakes by shooting them. Semi-automatics with high capacity magazines are an efficient way of doing it. Also Pierce, as even a fool is aware, socialist governments are known to be by far the biggest perpetrators of murder and violence. Our semi-automatics will protect us much better than a pair of scissors.”

“By the way, Pierce, what does NEED have to do with it? Why do you “need” your talk show? Why do you “need” all your money?”

Brilliant. Simply brilliant. Especially that last paragraph.

The next gems came from “Henson Ong – Gun Control – A MUST WATCH (5 minutes)” again posted by Mr. Pinko.:

Dan Ryan Galt posted another video from the same gun control hearing:

Then Moe Tom responded with a link to a story about the hearing and one of the elected officials on the panel not paying attention to the speakers (as the lady from Dan Ryan Galt’s video claimed):

As a final comment in that story, the author stated: “In my opinion, people with this attitude have no business in public office. Senator Beth Bye needs to be reminded that she is a public servant and, as such, should be serving the people and not acting as if we are an inconvenience to her.”

I hope you don’t mind me sharing this with you. Many of you have already read these comments, so just enjoy them again! I know we can’t do this with all the great comments everyone makes; that’s why reading the comment section is just as worthy as reading the articles!

God Bless you all.

Claudia – that was awfully thoughtful for you to post that. That’s the stuff like that makes IOTW the most unique blog I’ve stumbled across. I know it’s corny, but it does feel like a little family here. It’s why I may visit other blogs, but IOTW is always considered home.

    @Mr. Pinko–

Standing in awe of your cleverness: as a self-proclaimed “idiot”, you can’t ever be fired now. Otherwise iOTW would be hit with a discrimination suit.

    Isn’t affirmative action wonderful?

Thanks for posting these videos helping to get the word out on those who would take away our Constitutional rights. There are about 94 bills being considered in the Connecticut legislature to “do something” in response to the Newtown shooting.
As is most often the case, these new laws will do nothing to stop future gun violence and only prevent law abiding citizens from exercising their right to keep and bear arms for whatever reason.

One such proposal is to put a 50% tax on ammunition sponsored by Beth Bye of Facebook fame. Another is to require liability insurance is you own a gun. And the list goes on. All most of these will do is limit the ability of those who can least afford it to defend themselves and make it very inconvenient for those of us who can.

Here is a list of the feelgood legislation Connecticut can look forward to.

The commenters here are definitely, hands down, the best! In the years I’ve been crashing at y’alls pad, I’ve been lucky enough to meet and become friends with some of the greatest people I’ve ever known in my life.

Thank you all, old and new. Now, who brought the beer?

I put reading the comments on an equal footing as the articles. They serve to enlighten me further on the presented topic and to remind me I’m not nearly as witty or clever as I imagine myself! Thank-you IOTW community.
