Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL and author of the New York Times bestseller American Sniper, was one of two victims killed in a shooting at a Texas gun range Saturday.

According to a local news station, police have arrested a suspect in the slayings. The suspect reportedly shot Kyle at point-blank range while he attempted to aid a fellow veteran.

Dangit! This is the third time I’ve tried to comment. IE is freaking out on me.

There has been an extremely suspicious amount of gunplay this month and this murder reeks of something wrong.

Local reports around here say he was helping a guy with PTSD who apparently murdered him at a local gun range.

Just seems wrong. Stinks of something more.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? No witnesses?

Bad Brad, what is wrong is that our troops are overworked, fighting filthy savages, and forced to abide by ridiculous ROE. Remember Robert Bales?

It is almost as if Obama wants to redline the engine, drain the oil and then act shocked and reproachful when it seizes up.

“…he was shot by a Marine suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.”

More likely, a Marine suffering from “The current Administration’s programming to eliminate anyone who might stand in the way of destroying America.”

I see young Andrew Breitbart’s face in Chris Kyle’s.
    Coincidence, I think not.

thirdtwin, Everything you’ve said is true. But I’ve seen my share of these guys after they get out and one thing they have in common is their loyalty to each other. I guess it could have happened, but damn the timing is just to perfect for the gun control loons and the current power structure. I’m probably just being paranoid. I think I might have CODO. Current Obama Distress Order.

“Witnesses told sheriff’s investigators that the gunman opened fire on the two men around 3:30 p.m., then fled in a pickup belonging to one of the victims. The Sheriff’s Department didn’t get a call until around 6 p.m.”

Shot at 3:30, Cops called at 6:00?

The details of Chris Kyle’s abilities outlined in his book are proof of why someone wanted him eliminated. There’s paranoia in America alright, but it’s not her citizens.

The only consolation I have is that it never ends well for guys like him. I just want to be one of the ones standing on the edge of the smoking crater to witness that end.

F.D.R. in Hell, I would gladly trade this idjut for any, ANY, former President. Even Carter. Carter was just an idiot, he had no agenda.

If the cops weren’t called until 6:00, then neither were any EMT’s. That call would have gone thru an emergency 911 dispatch operator. Maybe they called a vet.

None of the witnesses had a cell phone. The pay phone had been vandalized. They didn’t think the two men were dead. The poker game wasn’t finished yet. There was still some daylight left for practice. The Lodge didn’t close until 6 pm.

This so doesn’t pass the smell test.

As someone from the Conservative Treehouse commented, perhaps this is a set-up for labeling all returning vets as “unstable”, all marked to suffer from PTSD, people not to be trusted.

It would be a real coup for the current Admin. to turn all returning vets into people to be shunned and feared, instead of people to be admired and respected.

Sure…They’ll explain how a two-and-a-half hour head start in a truck can result in a police chase 70 miles away that ends five hours later with an arrest.

Sure…just like “his mother was a teacher at the school.”

Brad, my son, all that’s left -is- sarcasm.

America is being dismantled, piece-by-piece, only to be rebuilt on some Level of Hell.

You know what is ironic? The fact that hero Chris Kyle was murdered at a gun range simultaneously with that anti-hero of a President promoting himself pantomime-shooting at a gun range.

    God works in mysterious ways.

I’m beginning to wonder if they are using silent drones to pick off the ones they consider a threat. They had to be alone at the gun range because of the 2 1/2 hour delay before the 911 call. How do they know what time he was shot? And how did the cops know who to chase?
You don’t sneak up on an awesome sniper like this guy, he would know if something was up. I think they let the one guy escape so they could pin it on him.

    SEAL dead (bonus: hero/author)
    Veteran dead
    Veteran blamed
    PTSD
    Gun Range
    Scary guns
    Texas

This cannot possibly be a Black Flag event. No one could possibly have any reason to tarnish public opinion of veterans. No one could possibly have any reason to want a top gun sniper killed.

You felt better because Chris Kyle was on this earth. You felt better because he loved his country like we all do. He said the things you thought about and shared with close friends. You knew that he was a champion for all that was good.

Can we agree to pray for his family, pick up the fallen torch and run towards the truth in Chris’ honor?
