My Senses Tell Me That This Letter is Just a Comic Genius Trolling
But then again, the lady who wanted the deer crossing signs moved to areas with less traffic so the deer wouldn’t get hit with cars was not kidding.
Every once in a while you run across something that is so outrageous, it has you in tears from laughter before you can even finish the whole text. Well, I found such an animal and it came in the form of a “Letter to the Editor” published in the local paper for Morehead City, North Carolina. Please brace yourself before reading this letter. From the Carteret County News-Times:The letter has to be seen to be believed. And even then….

Bwuahaha. Low information voters often don’t understand what “natural born citizen” means, that has been hacked in several different ways. However, it’s not every day someone says the constitution was written in 1913.

Fake but accurate. The author was so good, he had to scream the truth in his “so called” (I loved that subtle touch) Natural born citizen rant. IowaHawk would be proud.

As Rush says, there must be an element of truth in it for a parody to work.
I’m not betting my house that this wasn’t written by a ‘proud Democrat’.

Holy Canoli!!! Wait doesn’t Mender live… nevermind.
Ahh Old Morehead she ain’t what she used to be. They just lost a longtime standard bearer for God and common sense when my friend (my good friend’s grandmother) finally departed for Celestial Shores.
And this lady is the first voice of the citizens of MH to reach the rest of the country…
Gee whiz. Let me get to the island and then tear down the bridge!

In the last 4 years my stance against Planned Parenthood has softened some. I now believe many cases can be made for really , really, really late term abortions.

Oh, ‘cmon! Many of you have written just as splendid of a satire as this letter in this very forum.
It HAS to be satire or I will be even more bummed out today than I already am; and I just won’t have it!

January 30th, 2013
3twin, I doubt that was fake. The majority of Democrats, and a great many of the remainder of the population, in NC at least, are as ignorant and proud as that lady! I promise you. I bet 50% of the people within a mile of my house would read that and be going “Unh huh. That’s right. I seen it on GMA”!!!

The letter may be fake but the individual points of insanity…the age of the Constitution, the effectiveness of Chicago’s gun control, the need for govt “permission”…are held to one degree or another by liberals everywhere.
Spend five minutes talking civics with an Obama supporter and you’ll uncover a wealth of absurd mythology.

If it is real, it is hilarious. If not, it ‘splains everything.

Racist, the problem is that a lo info voter could not put together so many “known facts” in such a grammatically correct, coherent fashion. As is always the case, a conservative has to do it for them.

Something’s amiss. All the words are spelled correctly and, except for a comma or two, the grammar is proper. Either the editor ran the piece through a spell-checking Grammatik or the writer is smart enough to be pulling a leg.

I didn’t write it!
This is from my local newspaper, and I sorta know the owner/editor…well, we have talked on the phone and traded e-mails on many subjects…and I will do some follow up. The letter came from a Beaufort resident, and Beaufort has quite a large percentage of old hippies. Carteret County as a whole is 70% Republican, and I think that of the 30% libs like this, 29% live in Beaufort. Anyway, coming from Beaufort gives it a better chance of being real.

Well, it was in last Wdnesday’s paper…I have already burned that one. I’m looking for a paper edition.
From the News Times:
(Editor’s note: The following Letter to the Editor, published in the Jan. 23 edition, has gone viral on the Web after a reader linked it to a Fox News Facebook page. It had received more than 4,000 comments and been shared more than 12,000 times by Tuesday morning.)

I believe this was satire, but I also believe that many Democrats read that letter and nodded smugly in agreement.

So well thought out and written that there is an even split as to if it was written by a liberal or toungue-in-cheek conservative. I’ll go with the conservative satire.

When great satire goes terribly, terribly wrong: at the point when the opposition embraces it wholeheartedly, and starts to use it as successful fodder for their POV.

I just got off the phone with the owner of the News-Times. He was unaware that the letter went viral today. He assured me that he knows who wrote the letter, and it is NOT a spoof. Being a local media mogul (and rabid conservative), he said he was going to do a radio show on the radio station he owns on the letter tomorrow night to assure the world that the liberal is real…He would not give me the writers name (I think it is one of three regular idiots that write to his paper and call in to his show). If y’all are interested, I’ll post the number to call and the link to the the live internet feed to the show.
BTW, he was way excited to hear it went viral.
