This may be something completely new… but the USMC started doing live urban training back in the 1990′s.

I participated in one of the first such training exercises in Richmond in 1993. Did it again in 1994 and 1995. Atlanta and Miami.

We called it TRUE – Tactical Reconnaisance Urban Environment.

Turned out to be good training when it came to urban warfare in Fallujah, Hadithah, and Ramadi.

We did fast rope guys onto roofs, simulate TOW shots into buildings, straight-leg infantry house-to-house fighting kind of stuff…

It was always planned and announced months in advance….and always in parts of town that were vacant or cleared out for the training.

People did freakout seeing military helos and vehicles, but we had a robust PR team on site to deal with that.

Cops were always involved for each op to keep things calm.

No scenario ever involved fighting Americans. It was never even a consideration. The whole point was training to fight bad guys somewhere else – like Bosnia or Iraq.

Remember folks, I think it was last summer they had a “training exercise” in Denver that included, but probably not limited to, military, local law enforcement AND UN personnel.

And progs wonder why Americans are arming themselves to the teeth? They threaten to limit their choice of weaponry and then, unannounced, spray (blank) machine gun fire into major city streets. Why would anyone think to perhaps prepare for the worst? Duh!
