DORAVILLE, Ga. (CBS/AP) – Two Georgia men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing $65,000 worth of frozen chicken wings from a cold storage business where they worked, CBS Atlanta reports.

Police said storage facility employees 35-year-old Dewayne Patterson and 26-year-old Renaldo Jackson are charged with theft after stealing the wings from Nordic Cold storage in Doraville, just north of Atlanta.

A rental truck was pulled up to a bay door at the storage facility and was then loaded with 10 pallets of Tyson frozen chicken wings, according to a police report. Managers told police that Jackson used a forklift to load the wings wile Patterson served as a lookout.

CBS Atlanta reports that one five-pound bag of frozen Tyson’s chicken wings sells for about $12.50, and a nationwide chicken shortage is now driving up the price of wings. The station estimates that about 26,000 pounds of wings were stolen from the facility.

Claudia, wait for me! If those wings were Tyson and they’re “around $12″ a bag, they’re the “Anytizers”… and they are GOOD!!! I’ve got a coupon for $2 off my next bag, in my pocket right now! My boy and I had some yesterday. Somehow there never seems to be any leftover though, so I don’t have a clue how they’d be the next day!

I walked through a Tyson Chicken processing plant several years ago and haven’t touched a Tyson product since.
I hope these guys choke on the chewing tobacco the processing workers spit into the chicken vats.

Unruly, I had a friend who would not buy Tyson either… said it was the nastiest chicken on the market. I buy Purdue if I can find it.

TYSON was BIG supporter of the Clintons. Never buy their products, even though they are featured at fellow Arkansans’ Wal-Mart.

I wonder if there’s a futures market in chicken wings? Seems like there oughta be.

My wings (which are sounding better by the minute) come from P.A. BBQ which buys the raw product wholesale. No Tyson crap. Also from a little independent black establishment, Just Wings & A Few Other Things – Riviera Beach, FL, which makes even better product but they take ½ an hour for an order.
