Ledeen: Tocqueville forecast ‘millions of tiny regulations that erode freedom’
Daily Caller
Foreign policy scholar Michael Ledeen warned that even small regulations on tobacco and guns slowly and quietly erode the freedoms granted American citizens in the nation’s founding documents.
“It’s exactly what Tocqueville forecast, exactly the way he forecast it,” Ledeen said. “Millions of tiny little regulations, and we’re not going to notice them when they come in one-by-one. We’re even going to welcome them, and then one day we’re going to wake and find that we’re all tied down, we can’t move at all.”

The blizzard of regulations is bad enough, but what is worse is that many of them have been followed by newer regulations which contradict previous ones. And all are still on the books, giving the beady-eyed regulator the power to deem you an outlaw–and exact his pound of flesh–no matter what you do. Which is exactly the intent.

Obama’s biggest problem is he only has 8 years and 2 other branches, and can’t slowly bring the water to a boil, and is tossing us frogs in there to fast, and those of aware enough are jumping out…
God Bless the Founding Fathers for seeing in advance that someday someone like him would show up to destroy what many of them died for and risked their lives for.

I watched the Patriot today with Mel Gibson and now find I have little tolerance for traitors. And we have a lot of them.

Here in the Pacifist Northwest, we have the woodstove police, who, as soon as the temperature drops into the twenties, issues a frickin’ burn ban on any kind of woodstove, including the best, most compliant you can buy, unless your file an affidavit with them proving you use it for primary heating.
They now have authority to issue $125 tickets, and they are allowed to take anonymous complaints. That means anyone with an agenda about burning trees can make repeated anonymous complaints, and of course the agency just HAS to investigate them no matter how many times they get one.
I’m sending them one more letter and copying my attorney. Believe it or not it is still legal to heat your home with firewood when it gets too cold for the heat pump to work….
