Garbage In
Sometimes I get a tip for an image and I hesitate to put the person’s name on the credit because I think I might’ve taken their idea over their own line of decency.
Mary From Marin suggested an image based on Garbage In>Garbage Out in our classrooms. I don’t think she had the “garbage out” pictured quite this way. But it’s the only way I can do it.

I remember when education was absolutely useless.
Hell, in the 9th grade they had us reading “Animal House”, can you believe it???

You’re right, BFH–that’s not exactly the “end product” I had envisioned.

I guess this is “SISO” instead of “GIGO”. Probably much more accurate.

Dr. Tar – when I link to a video I hit enter after the link, then a period on the next line. May be a bit of overkill but makes it just the link.

Great image!
I have been searching online for a local story about schools that I saw two days ago. Can’t find it.
I wanted to do a screen grab of probably 2nd or 3rd graders sitting in a classroom. They each had brand new 21″ iMacs. So big that they couldn’t see over them to see what the teacher might be teaching.
Next comes on Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn expressing how urgent it is that the two Seattle Public School levies pass-for the children.
The computer I use to earn a living and pay taxes with is far inferior than the ones the rugrats have…something here does not compute.
Mr.8 and I ran the news story back 3 times to make sure we were seeing what we were seeing. Stunning.

illustr8r, I was screaming mad when my local school was pushing for extra levies one year. They had just purchased an LED Display ticker-type billboard for over the front entrance. How the hell is THAT for the chirrrruns?
It didn’t pass the three times they tried. F*ck them.

@ Illustr8r:
Those monitors are just a far more “energy efficient” approach to having the Orwellian screens of Big Brother up on all the street corners. Harder to escape too.
