Old Teeshirt Billboard Mystery Solved
Yawn. It was anonymous businessmen. Pinch me.
From WAPO:
The general manager of Schubert & Hoey Outdoor Advertising told Collins Wednesday: “The Bush ‘Miss me yet? ‘billboard was paid for by a group of small business owners who feel like Washington is against them. They wish to remain anonymous. They thought it was a fun way of getting out their message.”
I don’t mind that the billboard exists. That’s about it. The only person that could have put this up that would have made this campaign really intriguing is George Bush…
Self-described wet blanket Michelle Malkin details why she’s not into the billboard, and I couldn’t agree more. When the tee shirt came out, and the image appeared on Fark, etc., it was kind of funny because bad Bush policy was still fresh, so it really was a slam at Obama. A year later we aren’t going to get all nostalgic and stop the time machine at George W, we would go to Reagan.

Yeah, the “Miss Me Yet” pic became a typical message board avatar ages ago. Nothing new here.
Show billboards with Dead Fishs’ decapitation. That would be eye-catching.

Reagan? I say let’s go back to Grover Cleveland.
Although I have to admit that my favorite U.S. President was William Henry Harrison.

Bush blew it his second term. Too bad.
He’s still better than the Commie in Chief in charge now.
I’d drive out to see that sign, but it’s too far from my house. And it’s snowy. And I’ve seen that photo already. And I have to clean my house.
And I have to read iowntheworld. And flirt with BFH. I’m BUSY!

Don’t get me wrong, Matt. I still like George Bush. A lot. His laugh cracked me up. He led from the heart.
But the sign is waaaaay out of Minneapolis.
Wasn’t that snowball story funny/pathetic?
You don’t have to make up things to find stupid in the world. It’s just…there.

Hi all. I like the billboard. While Malkin makes some good points I think the intent of the billboard was to tweak the Dems and Obama and on that they score big. I’d like to see a bunch more springing up all over the country (especially in Hollywood). The Dems have been rocked back on their heels and we need to keep the pressure up. Things like the billboard do so in a witty, clever way.

Why stop at Reagan? Why not Lincoln or Washington? The point of the BUSH sign/Teeshirt/logo is that HIS administration, with all its shortcomings, is within everyone’s memory and is still preferable to what we have now!
If you have to explain a joke . . .

I bet the Left was so relieved (or disappointed?) that it wasn’t a secret cabal of black hooded tea partiers in league with space aliens who paid for that sign.

Michelle Malkin has a photoshop version of the billboard that has “Miss Me Yet” and the Constitution in place of a picture of Bush.
SNAP!
