Quiz: What Do You Think of This Legislation?

Home - by - January 26, 2013 - 20:00 America/New_York - 19 Comments

Personally, I think this is as stupid as a “gun free” sign. What is the point of this?

“You know, I was planning on subverting the United States, but, you cagey mofos got me now!”

This just strikes me as strange, particularly for high school students who are probably already indoctrinated into left-wingism because of the spinelessness of the Republicans. Is this all we on the right have? Empty symbolism?

How about we get back to teaching the constitution, teaching civics, ethics and morality and leave it at that.

AZCentral

Two state representatives have proposed bills requiring Arizona students to show more respect for their country in a move that is stirring constitutional arguments and a threat of lawsuits.

All public high-school seniors would have to recite an oath supporting the U.S. Constitution to be able to graduate, under a proposal in House Bill 2467 sponsored by Rep. Bob Thorpe, R-Flagstaff.

!snip!

Here is the pledge-

I, _______, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; So help me God.

People who sign a “loyalty oath” gladly are the liars to whom they mean nothing but a ticket to get something. People who are loyal do not need to sign a paper saying so.

If the current prez has no sense of loyalty to the constitution and the oath he took to uphold it,then what does this matter?

Too little, Too late in their education.

Throw out the deconstruction of U.S. History and create a curriculum around the founding fathers. This would focus on the issues leading up to the Revolution, the Declaration and the Constitution, the Civil War the Amendments after the Civil War, the Civil Rights movement against the Dixiecrats and the Voting Rights Amendments. Spend time on what these foundations mean today and how they have been undermind and assualted by the elites in this nation today.

Create another curriculum on Communism, its roots, its fully and bloody history and why it failed and continues to fail.

Create another curriculum on fundamentals of Economics and explain the workings of free markets, price signals, private property, the ingredients for prosperty and contrast this to the utter failure of communism.

Oh, yeah and purge all leftist, communist, socialist and other perverts from the education system. Send them on exchange programs to Cuba, N. Korea, Venezuala, and what ever stink holes in Africa and the Middle East that will take them. Then we refuse to let them back in the country. Have Sean Penn lead the exchange program.

For God’s sake. Making a kid recite an oath to get their diploma means they aren’t taking It freely.

    Idiots.

OK, I’ll expand on that. Obama took an oath right? But he has openly stated that he intends to change the Constitution because he thinks it is to limiting on government powers so what was the point of him even taking the oath? I swore a similar oath to be on my local Planning Board, and I take that very seriously, but I know full well that others do not.

This idea makes as much sense as outlawing guns because we all know the bad guys will still have them just as the bad guys will ignore any oath or pledge they swear to.

Also, I don’t see how this could be Constitutional. I am not aware of any ‘rule’ in the Constitution that requires a natural born citizens to support and defend it…and there shouldn’t be.

I do, however, agree that if someone is activley aiding enemies, foreign and domestic, they should be treated as a traitor, but indifference should not be a crime.

BULLSHIT. They don’t even recite the “Pledge of Allegience” A given, when my kids went to elementary
school in the 70′s. All this bullshit is doing is keeping us occupied with trivial stuff. Meanwhile
obummer and his czars are circumventing the Constitution. The media will harp on this shit and avoid the real stupp. We are being hoodwinked.

Pretty much the same oath that I took when joining the U.S. Navy back in the day.

I do have a problem with forcing anything as a condition on anybody for something that has already been paid for.

It’s like going to the grocery store and paying for the product but cannot leave the store unless I promise not to shop at any other store.

    Like Menderman said…Just lie.

Well some people would think different about the whole thing.

If it was me I would tell the legislators to “Go screw themself.”

If we’re not allowed prayer in school then BY GOD I will be damned if I have to give an oath to a country that denies me THAT right.

I personally do NOT want prayer in school because I have personal reasons but the most important fact is to keep the muzzie’s prayer carpets out of the hallways 5 times a day.

Yeah I’m pretty much perverse about alot of things.

The problem with this is, they most likely don’t even know what is in the constitution.

When I was a kid, you had Civics class. You had to know exactly what the Constitution said, along with all the amendments. And you had to understand the meaning of, and reason behind them.

And if you didn’t learn this, Sister Dolores Marie would open a giant can of ass whooping on you, and crack you in the head with her metal chalk holder.

Obama took an oath too. What a joke that was.

    I wish it was doable.

But, before they could even think about making graduates take an oath to uphold the Constitution, the students would need to be educated on the Constitution.

Too many public schools already have a problem just turning out students that are even functionally literate.

Mindi Te’o and the broad who moved to Switzerland are in the news big time. We are being hoodwinked by the media. So what?
“So what’s the difference”/ Who really gives a shit anymore. Now Geraldo and CNN are concentrating on Gun Shows and the 2nd Amendment.

Houston is right. The word, “freely” doesn’t apply.
It looks like an oath of enlistment.

If they don’t take the pledge, and they don’t graduate, then they go on the welfare system, we are forced to support their asses, and they will vote for the enemies of the Constitution who give them their free meal ticket. Self-defeating idea.

It would be better to ask citizens outside of high school if they are loyal to the country in which they live. Then send them back to Kenya if they are not. Love it or Leave it.

I don’t acknowledge 0bama as any kind of a leader. I am still loyal to the America that he is in the process of stealing from us and our do-nothing representatives in D.C.
