I’m awaiting Atkinson’s similar comedy routine about Muhammad.

Ok, I’m confused. The caption on the thread would seem to indicate that Atkinson takes the position that muzzies should be mocked, ridiculed and intensly disliked – in otherwords, a good thing. But Fur’s video comment shows Atkinson in a different light – a bad thing. Help me out. Is it his hypocrisy?

Is that caption supposed to be talking about Christianity?

His pronunciation of “whence” made me want to wince.
I can’t STAND “Mr. Bean”, and Rowan Atkinson’s performance at the London Olympics was an emetic for the ages.

The Black Adder is right. Ask anyone whether it’s ok to denigrate Westboro Baptist or the Church of Scientology, and they’re fine with it. Any religion that outrageously abuses human rights deserves to be attacked and ridiculed.

Ok, I see Fur’s point. It IS Bean’s hypocrisy of using Christians as material for his comic routine, but not using muzzzieslimes in the same manner -despite his “bold” statement to the contrary. Carry on.

I can’t see Edmund Blackadder suffering Mohammedans gladly.

Yes, Stirrin.
I have a healthy skepticism of Atkinson because he is a “devout atheist.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if he said he was talking about Christianity and not Islam.
All in all, I think he’s a funny guy.

Like him or not, can we trade him for Piers Moran, I mean Morgan?

@Fur –
The moral of this story is that “entertainers” (fka the court jester) need to stick to their schtick and leave their politics at the door.
I’m a huge parrothead, and that’s what I like about Buffett. He’s a big time liberal, but he keeps politics out of his public (performance) life and gives his fans what they came for.
All these other so-called celebrities who feel compelled to use their “celebrity” status as a platform to promote their shallow-faux view upon their fans, can go the way of print media or the buggy whip, for all I’m concerned. Just ask the Dixie Chicks how that worked out for them.

My kids brought home a dvd of some movie this guy did. It lasted about 3 minutes passed the credits and I stopped it. He’s not even close to relevant in my world.

Never saw Mr. Bean but I have the complete Black Adder. I get out the Blackadder Christmas Carol every Christmas.
Atheist? I thought he was Jewish.

“Funny guy” all right, but nothing in that statement tells me who he really means. He could be (and likely is) talking about Christians who don’t embrace homosexuals…
But I think he is every bit of an authority on reality as Snookie is…
