The Colonel
Police rarely in the course of their careers discharge their weapon in the line of duty. But leave it to this moron to shoot a 25 pound puppy because it was unleashed.
On Saturday afternoon, witnesses say that the Colonel followed his owner outside of the owner’s gated home where the officer was writing a parking ticket for the van of Al Phillips. According to witnesses, the officer warned him about having a dog without a leash twice and then proceeded to shoot the puppy twice. Witnesses say the puppy was not threatening the officer, who then proceeded to finish his ticket and give it to a distraught Phillips.
The Colonel was rushed to an emergency vet and had five hours of surgery to save his life.
What is incredible is that the police returned later to the scene while Phillips was speaking with a reporter and demanded to know why he contacted the media. According to the report, they then gave him a ticket for not keeping his dog on a leash.
That was three days after the incident.

Chicago was a better city to live in when Al Capone ran it. I’m not kidding.

Not fit to wear the uniform, and that goes for the whole damn department.

There was a deputy in Southern Maryland who shot 7 dogs (the last one chained) before the Sheriff’s Department started to think he was a little touched in the head.
Cops are like unions – they protect the shitty members.

Ranks right up there with the cops threatening to kill the motorists because they had permitted CCW’s. Like MAJMike said – thugs with badges.
That gives me an idea – we’ve seen Girls Gone Wild, why not Cops Gone Wild?
Make a TV show of these types of incidences, in hopes that it might make the next cop think twice before using excessive and abusive force.

Dog owner was warned twice by the officer about having a dog without a leash, (unstated) copped an attitude (unstated), and the officer made a (maybe poor) judgment call and shot the unleashed (BULL-)dog.
I am familiar with near-north Chicagoans. Rahm Emmanual is one of them. They largely think their sh_t doesn’t stink. I don’t doubt that the judge was one of them, too. These are the same people who’d whine that a south-side hood, caught in flagrante delicto, was innocent of whatever crime because the arresting officer failed to pronounce one word correctly while reading the arrestee his rights, then cause him to be released. In the next breath they’d whine about the crime rate.
It’s a shame about the dog, but if the owner had complied, the dog would probably be OK today.
How does it go: libs are all heart and no brain; conservatives are all brain and no heart? Had lib DEM dogwalker used his brain, none of this would have happened.
And if he loved the dog so much, how come he didn’t insert himself between the dog and the officer’s gun as soon as it was drawn, as I would have done if Boobie managed to shed her leash in the presence of a police officer?
Maybe the city could settle for the vet bill, but absolutely NO “pain and suffering.”

Everytime I hear of a chicago thug officer incident I just look at this video and how the corrupt protect their own through intimidation.
http://youtu.be/49kgG0s7lVk
So it should come as no surprise that they went back and harassed and ticketed him. Coming soon inspectors, health department, and whoever else they can use within their corrupt gang to continue the harassment.

Knew a dumbshit who would always say he was 1 of “their favorite catchphrase” one of “Chicagos finest”.
Took 6 shots, 5 to the head. If you knew this asshole you’d understand why he got shot.
I always said the only reason it was 6 shots is because they had a revolver and not a semi-automatic.
He was everything thats wrong with the law enforcement, government and police unions.
Its no wonder Obama loves abuse and abuse of power, he was culturally part of it and sees the benefits if you are on top of the pyramid.

It’s a simple settlement. The dog lived, which is great. So the officer need not die, but I think the owner deserves two shot right into the sack of that fucking worthless piece of shit, with a .45.

How about stricter background checks for police officers including a psychological work up?

Just how frequently do police shoot friendly dogs? Seems to be habit. Shoot first make excuses later.
A few months ago a LEO responded to a domestic disturbance call, went to the wrong house. The owner was tossing a frisbee to his dog in the back yard. The LEO shot and killed his dog ( Cisco) when it ran toward him.

Another in Maryland. Az drug dealers would ship packages to random addresses, the customer on the receiving end was to snatch the package off the porch to which it was delivered.

Boobie,
Copped an attitude?
You’re not serious, are you?
I wouldn’t care if I told the cop to go f*ck his mother, he has no right to shoot a dog.
He can say your dog is unleashed, I’m calling animal control.
I don’t think it’s city policy to shoot dogs if no one is in imminent danger.
I’m hoping you’re just trolling.
