Gallup: American Optimism Hits Lowest Point Since Carter Administration
CBS DC

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Fewer than four-in-10 Americans (39 percent) rate the US in a positive manner – the most negative feedback the country has produced since 1979.
A new Gallup poll finds that Americans are as negative about the country’s prospects as they have been in more than three decades. Americans are more upbeat in their predictions of where the U.S. will be in five years (48 percent positive), but this is the lowest rating since an August 1979 Gallup poll was conducted.
The negativity about the current state of the US has a politically partisan split – Republicans stated that the country’s best days have already passed and Democrats say the best days have not happened yet. Seventy-five percent of Democrats gave positive reviews of how the nation will be five years from now, but only 15 percent of Republicans were positive – a 60 percent partisan gap.
As a whole, fifty-five percent of Americans say the state of the nation five years ago was positive.

How can you expect America to be reflected in a possitive light when you have a large group of America haters running the show.

And instead of taken advantage of that FACT and rising up as a strong, articulate opposition to Obama, the Republican Party plays the shrinking violet. Cowards.

I will NEVER believe that Obumbles won this election honestly. The Dems cheated in all of the battleground states (OH, PA, FL) and turned the tide. Dozens of precincts where Romney got absolutely zero votes… Give me a break! Plus they refused to count the military votes because they arrived a day late (by design!)
Romney, being the gentleman that he is, did not contest the outcome in all of these fraudulent districts. It would have taken millions of $$ and loads of time and effort to go through this. The Dems are totally corrupt – there is not one single person in that party who has any courage to come forward. They are willing to have the country be led by a Communist traitor, rather than to speak honestly.

@Loretta, I agree completely.
How else can they explain that in some districts BO got MORE than 100% of the votes?

@Loretta- I agree. Throwing the election came down to less than 500k votes spread over 3-4 states. Which is a trivial matter if one has control over the electronic vote counting. The US has screwed with the elections of other countries including Australia in the 1970s and they’re our ally. What makes anyone think that ANY politician of either party wouldn’t do it here?

Why would Barry and RodentNation care if the country isn’t optimistic? Anyone think Castro or Chavez cares if their peeps are unhappy?
It’s good to be king.

I survived the Carter years, as a lot of us here, but I have grave misgivings about the country surviving BO.
The election was obviously stolen.
He has tacked into the socialist maelstrom.
He is destroying the economy so we have nothing but the state to depend upon.
He, and his socialist sycophants are stealing every dime they can – think ‘Goring Works.’
When small businesses are completely destroyed, we will be declared ‘labor units’ and sold to the large industrial combines.
Carter was a piker compared to this maggot –
or we’re much less of Americans than we were.

My confidence cratered, when the sorry-assed white boy (with the ‘typical white granny’
) won the Iowa caucus…
