A school district official in Missouri allegedly told the mother of a  13-year-old girl that the girl should undergo breast reduction surgery if she  wants to put an end to constant bullying about her cup size.

Tammie Jackson says her daughter Gabrielle, a sixth grader at Central Middle  School in north St. Louis County, has faced bawdy comments and general  harassment for several months because of her large breasts, KTVI reports.

When Jackson contacted the school district in an effort to find a way to stop  to the teasing, she says she got a response she wasn’t exactly expecting.

“The lady on the phone said they could transfer my daughter and said her  boobs were so large she will always get teased,” Jackson told the station. “And  the only suggestion she had for me is to have my daughter get a breast  reduction.”

I wonder if they would suggest the gay student who is being harassed be sent to one of those gay-no-more camps for youths.

What do you think? Will that happen?

Someone wasn’t paying attention in the ubiquitous sensitivity training classes.

Oh. That’s right. They only focus on protected species. Normal people being bullied? Yer on yer own.

Probabaly suggested the transfer because the school district and their union teachers are afraid one of their own will get busted 1 day pawing at them.

Now she can throw in racial discrimination along with big boob humility syndrome in her lawsuit.

Smells like a lawsuit in the works….

Even if true or not, the charge will at least get some cash for the “distraught” poor wittle baby’s mama…oh and baby’s long lost daddy will make a remarkable reappearance in her and her mama’s life….until the EBT card and cash is gone.

I dunno, Edith McCrotch. IME, it’s 50-50 whether the complaining parent is solely looking to cash out, or if they’re actually looking to address a problem on their child’s behalf. If the admin had successfully dealt with the students who couldn’t moderate their behavior in the name of civility, we wouldn’t be hearing about this.

If the school does anything to bring more attention to the glaringly giant boobs on a Grade 6 girl, it will only get worse

I think the parents should have her boobs reduced. Because once she is in grades 7/8, older boys will be trying to feel her up..

Grade 6 teasing will seem like fun and games then

It’s getting increasingly more difficult to stay abreast of the loons running the education system.

I’m with @RosalindJ on this. I will give the parent the benefit of the doubt here.

I went to school with a girl who was the tallest person in the 7th grade — most of the 8th grade too. She transferred in from a K-6 elementary school with others from her class. She was nicknamed Skyscraper. It was horrible watching her try to fit in, especially with the boys since we were all shorter than her. She wasn’t shy but she was not all that gregarious, though she was happy with her friends from 6th grade. However, the next year in 8th grade, many of the boys had grown and we were taller than her. I couldn’t believe the transformation from one year to the next. She became friendly and out-going, always smiling and quite happy; because the boys were now taller than her! Not to mention that slow dancing with her was great because it truly was cheek-to-cheek. She was really good looking, too! ;-)

And there were a few of the girls that had large breasts as well. And yes, the boys used to snap the bra straps and make all kinds of rude remarks about breasts. I remember that one of the girls thought she wasn’t that good looking. I don’t remember it that way but puberty is tough time. I overheard her saying to her friend that she was okay with the attention given to her boobs because at least she was getting attention from boys! Maybe it’s different now.

@unneutral. I think you’re right. Perhaps we should put out a few feelers in order to grasp some tips as to how to handle the situation.

Far be it from our liberal school “professionals” to instill an atmosphere of respect in our schools. The bullies should be paddled until they see the error of their ways.

I was paddled in school. It works quite well. It’s not a big deal and has no lasting negative effects. But it IS an effective attitude adjuster.

The lawyers have ruined our society.

I remember that age. There were a few girls who matured fast/early etc. The raging inferno of hormones in those grades was memorable to be sure.

I still remember one girl in particular, she was average looking but had a rack that wouldn’t quit, even in middle school. Let me tell you. She had this habit of leaning back in her desk/chair combo jobbie that we all had.

I swear she was doing it on purpose. She’d lean way back to “crack her back” (yeah right) and always wore sweaters. My GOD I swear every time she’d do that in class about half a dozen guys would just about pass out from lack of blood to the brain.

Even decades later I guarantee that every single male that was in that grade with that girl will be able to vividly remember.

    Anyway. Moving right along.

I should add that at no time did any of us grab grope or harass any of the “hot chicks” in our grade. This was over 20 years ago. That kind of crap was just not done. At all. Even if you were “dating” you might hold hands or sneak a kiss.

Well, even with a girlfriend you don’t dare cop a feel in public because you could get in trouble for that.

Staring and drooling, well, that was subconscious and involuntary.

And this quote from the Superintendant of the school district may explain the employee’s response:

“…Clive Coleman, superintendent of the Riverview Gardens School District, said that a reduction in bullying is one of the district’s goals, notes the New York Daily News….”

A reduction in bullying? Accomplished by a reduction in breasts. Problem solved.

I’ve always heard that buxom women (and girls) have it tough …

    Especially pretty ones.

Pretty girls with large breastseses – yeah, gotta be tough.

Middle school kids are awful. I had a friend who was buxom at an early age, and the things people said about her, just because of the way she looked, which she could not help, were atrocious. I feel for this girl.
