Poll Shows NRA More Popular Than President Obama; As Usual, Media Ignore

Despite constant hammering by the national news media, the National Rifle Association has a favorability rating of 54 percent in the latest Gallup survey, slightly higher than President Obama’s rating of 53 percent.
While those figures are within the poll’s margin of error, they show that the NRA’s popularity is in the same range as that of the Democratic president who issued 23 executive orders to accomplish goals the gun-rights group has promised to combat in “the fight of the century.”
According to an article by Frank Newport, the Gallup poll — which was conducted Dec. 19-22 — showed that only 38 percent of those surveyed have an unfavorable opinion of the NRA, while Obama’s disapproval rating is three points higher at 41 percent.

Like me you were probably watching the president’s gun control speech today. Was told this morning the presentation today was a revised version that was completed just last night after a bunch of back and forth between the White House and Senate leaders. Guessing that would be Harry Reid mostly. Last week the president was ready to go all in on the executive order scenario. Confiscation was going to be in play. Then the backlash came and it forced Obama to back off. He didn’t want to but after Reid said it was a no go, and the NRA was preparing to go to war with the White House, the president was given a revised script and that is what we heard this morning. You could tell too. Obama stumbled over the words more than usual. He didn’t have the time to prep the script like he normally does. Probably fuming he was forced to read the new version also.
This time WE WON and OBAMA LOST.

I read Ulsterman every day with a jaundiced eye. To say that “confiscation was in play” is quite a stretch. There are leftists from red states, like Begich in Alaska who don’t want to hear about gun bans.
Don’t get me wrong. UM is highly entertaining, but I picture the blogger typing screenplays when he needs hits.

I have always considered Andrew Breitbarts get in thier faces approach to dealing with the left to the cowtowing that is done by the likes of the institutional publicans such as Boehner, O’connell and Graham. The NRA and the American People took the bull by the horns and deserve much KUDOS. The publicans on the other hand were no where to be found, with the exception of Cruz and Rubio, and the fatass govenor from New Jersey can kiss my ass.

In general, I think Ulsterman’s blog is hugely underappreciated.
To me it was obvious that this was what happened. That speech was so lame, you just KNEW it had been hugely watered down, in spite of all tough talk coming out of the usual suspects.
Once again, I’m grateful for Matt Drudge, who made a HUGE deal of all the new NRA members plus the record-breaking gun/ammo sales.
