TEA Party/Freedom Works Debacle – Dick Armey Speaks Candidly With Sinclair News

Home - by - January 17, 2013 - 20:51 America/New_York - 8 Comments

Dick Armey tries to set the record straight after numerous attacks on his integrity from right-wing luminaries, including Erick Erickson of Redstate, who said:

So Dick Armey shows up with a gun toting security guard to launch a coup against FreedomWorks?  OK.  What’s telling is that Team Armey is doing a lot of talking to Mother Jones — a far left magazine eager to destroy everyone on the right.  Currently, they are engaged in tearing down FreedomWorks.

Sinclair News-

Sinclair News last week pointed out that with all the charges from the conservative media about liberal outlets like Media Matters, MSNBC et al distorting the truth and telling out right lies; so too does those who call themselves “New Conservative Media” or “conservative Media.”

Read it all and listen to the Dick Armey interview.

“We” the people need to give up the Re pubic-hairs. I am serious. We keep getting these NE liberal tight panty prissy alcoholics to represent the party party of Lincoln and Martin Luther King.

Erick Erickson will not give a moment of his time to anyone who questions Obama’s Birth Certificate or sexual orientation. Those topics are strictly verboten at RedState, unless skeptics are being ridiculed.

The most Larry Sinclair will get is a post by Erickson at RedState, probably smirky, dismissive and filled with ad hominem attacks. And zero dissenting comments, because RedState has winnowed out anyone who might embarrass the guy who dreams of taking over for Rush Limbaugh.

Wow. Who needs the Left when we can kill each other just as well without them?

This is the shizz that is going on behind the scenes while Obama walks to victory.

I never go to freedom works or redstate (Never seen them linked by anyone onto Facebook) since a few years ago, so I didn’t miss anything. (And yes, I’ve heard stuff about EE that were less than nice)

    But, yikes!

I dunno – just from this, it sounds like the young upstarts may have used Armey initially for name recognition, and then pushed him away when they no longer felt they needed him. I’d never heard of Kibbe previously. And given Beck’s shady dealings, if he’s aligned with Kibbee….well just makes me wonder.

Before anyone writes Matt Kibbe and Freedomworks off do your own homework. My recollection is fuzzy on this, but there was always some widely-held concerns about Armey’s association with the tea party. I believe it was early on that formal organization of the tp separated along the lines of Armey’s representation and the rest of the conservatives so that there became two distinct orgs. Most tea party adherents really don’t care who is at the “top” because it’s a bottom-up, grass roots movement, anyway, and though there may be a titular head of these organizations, no one vests them with any real power. Jenny Beth Martin, for example is the “head” of Tea Party Patriots and she frequently speaks on Fox for the tea party as does Kibbe, but the local orgs are made up of people working on local issues — a lot of them.

Freedomworks is a fine organization; they brought us C.L. Bryant’s “Runaway Slave” and other conservative cause films that have brought conservative issues to the fore.
