Nice Deb

Thanks to the quick reflexes of a Michigan City man, and his close proximity to a firearm, a recent home invasion that could have ended very badly for him, instead ended very badly for his assailants.

ABC 57 News MICHIGAN CITY, Ind, Jan 15:

According to police, a man was inside his home on Pontiac Drive Friday night when two people broke in.

He pulled out a gun, shot both of them, and kept one of them at gunpoint until police got there.

The other man ran away, but police found him just blocks away inside a house on Hobart Street.

Police surrounded that house, and went inside. They found the man hiding in the closet and bleeding.

I was one of those people who believed the anti-gun activists’ stats that people who owned guns for self-defense were more likely to be shot with their own gun than to thwart a crime against them. I no longer believe that because I’m certain I would use the gun on someone trying to harm me or my family before he or she would get within range to take my weapon.

I realize now that the stories that have been played up over the years about children finding and playing with guns (and then getting killed or killing a friend) were undoubtedly exploited by the liberal media against people just like me who used to listen to NPR.

I’m very glad to see that people are fighting back against the hysterical ravings of the anti-gun activists. Their emotional hysteria over the safe use of firearms by citizens whose right it is to own them is making them look like the crackpots they are.

Just displaying a firearm is sometimes all it takes to stop a violent criminal. A well placed projectile, however, will guarantee that you will not ever have to deal with that same criminal again.

    It pays to be proficient.

Abby…FBI stats show the 5 gallon buckets half filled kill more kids then accidental gun deaths. Of course swimming pools are way up there.
