Missouri House Proposes Jail Time for Feds Violating the 2nd Amendment

Missouri conservatives proposed a bill that will punish feds violating the Second Amendment with jail time. The Tenth Amendment Center reported:
Introduced by Missouri State Representative Casey Guernsey, with 61 co-sponsors, is the Missouri 2nd Amendment Preservation Act. House Bill 170 (HB170) would nullify any and all federal acts, orders, laws, statutes, rules, or regulations of the federal government on personal firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition.
The bill states, in part:
“Any official, agent, or employee of the federal government who enforces or attempts to enforce any act, order, law, statute, rule, or regulation of the federal government upon a personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is owned or manufactured commercially or privately in the state of Missouri and that remains exclusively within the borders of the state of Missouri shall be guilty of a class D felony.”

I think you’ll see many states west of the Mississippi and in the deep south do this. I live in Kansas and this has been on the drawing board for over a year now. But this past election we got rid of most of the libs and it looks like this will soon get passage here as well. I’d love to see all 50 states tell Obama to GO TO HELL!

The question will be whether the President’s executive orders carry the same weight as legislative law. He is not OUR boss. The scope of his authority is 1/6 of the divided power structure of our nation… the federal government with its three branches of which he has authority over one of them, the states and then the people.

@IOpian — No executive order carries the full force and effect of law. @Dagney and I discussed this on another thread and I blogged about it here.
Basically, if an EO is equivalent to law, then why bother with a legislature? Having a president that rules by one person fiat is nothing more than a monarchy. Something tells me our founders’ distaste for a monarchy was the reason we have a constitution in the first place, but I’d have to check my notes.

If I read this right, none of my current guns would qualify as being exempt to Fed reach because I don’t think any of them were made in my state or Missouri’s.
BUT !!
Again, If I got this right, I would be able to make any currently prohibited weapons and have refuge from the Feds. Including fully automatic anything.

By the way, this law is perfectly in keeping with what our founders intended. The federal gov’t was limited and the states had power to protect themselves and their residents from any attempted tyranny forced on them by the federal gov’t.
If more states did things like this, that is, put federal agents in jail that violate a citizen’s rights, we’d have fewer problems with the federal gov’t usurping power.
I’d like to see a state with no income tax start jailing IRS agents for violation of the 5th amendment. Because pretty soon, there are going to be 15,000 new members of the Geheime Staatspolizei out to enforce ObamaTax. Put those scum in jail and watch 0bama melt like the Wicked Witch of the West.

He’s given us plenty of opportunities to IMPEACH his sorry ass out of Office.
Obama is like the ugly snake-headed Medusa, doing evil on many fronts, all at once. Even if unsuccessful, Impeachment would throw a wrench simultaneously into all his multiple machinations.
