Civil War II ?
Clichés become clichés for a reason, and the old cliché, “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns,” rings as true today as it did whenever it was that some homespun fellow coined it.
I was disgusted – physically sickened, in fact – when Barack Obama, president of these Divided States of America, shamelessly exploited the Sandy Hook memorial service to lay the groundwork for his unconstitutional gun-confiscation scheme. It was slimy to the extreme.
I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. That’s what liberals do. Every time some evil nutjob – pumped full of psychotropic drugs by NEA members who don’t want to deal with them – shoots-up the place, the left’s collective mouth begins to water.
“Now, finally, now!” they say, rubbing together soft hands that have never felt the surprising weight of a Sig Sauer 45. “This time we have the political momentum for sweeping gun control. This time the American people will roll over and let us trample the Second Amendment beneath jackbooted executive order or congressional fiat.”

Has anyone else been thinking back on that seemingly out-of-the-blue question from one of the presidential debates, “What are you going to do to get assault weapons off the streets?”
It was about as weird as when Stephanopoulos asked Romney about birth control, and then after a few months we could see it was all part of the master agenda.

I don’t recall it. But it’s clear that socialists all over the map have always aimed at expropriating individual citizens from owning their own weapons.
And it’s clear that Obama is a socialist (at best). and that the MSM, co-organizing those debates with the presidential campaigns, operate as an extension of the Obama régime.

Regarding the above, the question was so odd, even SNL mocked it when then did their post-debate mimicry.
I found an old news story relating to the debate question. It seems so long ago…October, when we still had hope…
Interestingly, I just watched the video on this Fox story, and they actually mention people being afraid the AR-15 would be banned. Sigh.

I am glad to see someone else calling them “defense weapons”. Lakoff’s Little Blue Book of rules for Progs tells them to never use the language of the opposition in an argument. No advocate of the Second Amendment should ever use the word “assault ever again in an argument. Use “defense” instead, and bonus points if they can get their prog opponent to say “defense weapon” or “defense rifle”, no matter what context. We must stop letting them put words in our mouths.
The Department of Defense used to be called the War Department. Just a thought.
