NOTE – BULLPEN UPDATES
Bullpen participants-
Notice that I have edited your post titles to include your screen name. I’d encourage you to do this in the future so that your name appears in the sidebar widget. It helps build your brand so that people who like what you post can be alerted that you’ve posted.
Also, people have been asking how to access older bullpen posts. The feed in the sidebar (I think there are 25 stories at any given time) is the only “live” way of accessing older posts. Let’s face it, we can’t run an entire alternate site alongside iOTW, complete with hosted archives. Well, we “could,” but it would be costly. The way to access older posts is to click on your own screen name in any of your posts. This will access your entire posting history as a contributor. Feel free to pimp yourself and invite readers to click your screen name to see all of your past stories.

Did I miss some instructions on how/where to access the Bullpen in order to post. The Bullpen sticky thread no longer appears anywhere on the site (that I can see). How do I get there?

BigFur, Could you please explain the graphics upload link on the submission form? Does it crop the images or do we have to do that ourselves? Also, can we only load images from our computer, or is there a way to pull them off the internet with the story?

The graphics feature is set to only publish thumbnail size pictures. So please use small pictures. 100k or less. And use it when it’s really funny or integral to the story, or if you want to make an editorial point.
You can drag pics to your desktop and upload them to the Bullpen thing from there. Or browse your computer, but do not upload huge files. It could ultimately result in me pulling the ability to upload pictures if things get out of hand. Remember, bandwidth costs money.

BFH,
This feature you are upgrading is awesome. I tip me own small, rabbit-fur hat to you, sir.

Feel free to upload stuff like that and direct the traffic to the maker of the pic.
That would be a great use of the Bullpen.
But again, be mindful of the bandwidth. Try and resize the picture on your own before uploading. It’s only going to publish a thumbnail anyway, so try and upload a small version of what your promoting. I’d hate to see that I would have to eventually discontinue the feature because it simply would be too much money.
Remember, even things that I don’t publish will still have the image uploaded to our server. I will have to manually go in and take it out.
ORRRRRRRRR. This is an option.

Thanks BigFur. I’m tapped out for the next few weeks but I see a donation headed your way soon. This is a great opportunity like none I have ever been part of on the internet before.
