Gun-Controlled Chicago Sees More American Deaths Than Afghanistan War Zone

Via Gateway Pundit, there were 405 coalition casualties in Afghanistan in 2012, and 310 of them were Americans (72% of US war casualties in Afghanistan have come under President Obama).
In Chicago, which claims some of the strictest gun control policies in America, there were 532 homicides in 2012.
Yet, still, Chicago’s officials blame all of this crime on the existence of guns. In fact, Chicago’s Police Chief Gary McCarthy said during a radio interview that despite the fact that Illinois must begin issuing concealed carry permits, in accordance with recent Supreme Court decisions, he’ll still instruct his officers to shoot any citizen they see with a gun:
“You put more guns on the street expect more shootings,” McCarthy said. “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”

So what is highly trained? Police have to qualify twice a year – right? My 4H’er trains 2x a month on muzzle loader, pistol, rifle, shotgun, safety, and personal responsibility.

Conceal carry does not equal more guns.
For Chicago specifically, the law states: Gun possession is permitted only inside a dwelling, not in a garage or on the outside grounds of the property.
Conceal carry does NOT mean anything in Chicago because of Chicago specific law — The shootings that took (and continue to take) place in Chicago streets are the result of criminals who conceal or open carry regardless of possession restrictive laws.

From the media reports on the shootings (not just the killings) it seems that most of them are ambush style, not face to face fighting. Bystanders are shot or killed as often as the intended target.
Assuming there are decent, law-abiding people who live in the kill-zones, the question is this; Why do they stay there, why don’t they move to a safer location? Drama, excitement?

Since Afghanistan has 10 times the people of Chitholistan, a more proper comparison would be 405 deaths in Afghanistan compared to a projected 5,000 plus in Chitcago.

Would some one please educate the Police Chief that shooting first and asking questions later is NOT how you win the hearts and minds of the populace. Treat us as if the citzens are the enemy, they will respond in kind. There too many LEOs out there who think they can do any damn thing they want, while wearing a uniform with a badge or the letters of some alphabet soup government agency.

I love this, you gotta have oodles of training to use a gun safely. If you have half a brain you can get the fundamentals of using a weapon in an hour. Proficiency comes with practice. Safety and when to use it comes with the afore mentioned half a brain. Of the 500+ shootings in Chi Town, I am willing to bet, the average IQ is somewhere south of 80.

These A-holes are so busy trying to usurp our rights that they fail to see that concealed carry works pretty well, no, damn well in the states that have it. Shoot-outs in the streets were predicted. Didn’t happen.
